BossGnome -> Determined Japanese opponent wanted for long-term game (4/17/2011 3:52:19 AM)

Hi,

So, here I am (sigh) looking yet again for a new opponent for the full campaign, scenario 1. I thought things were going well with my previous playing partner, but after 6 weeks of game time he informed me that his computer got stolen and so he wouldnt be able to play for a few weeks. He tried to use this occasion to convince me that we should start a new game after he got a new computer, and when I refused, stopped answering my mails. I can only surmise that he lied to me and wanted an excuse to stop a game he felt he wasn't doing well in. After 6 weeks of the war, needless to say this is very dissapointing.

So, I want to AVOID a repeat of this situation. Those who plan on quitting the game halfway through need not apply. I am, I believe, an imperfect but challenging opponent, and I will not let you rest easy. I can do usually one turn a day. Oh yes, and I live in Japan so if you are in the states or europe turns will most likely arrive during your sleep.

House rules are:1) no bombing of cities in China: the Japanese never did it historically and the Allies never would have bombed Chinese cities.
2) no more than 1 squadron on night attacks per hex per day. This is because night bombing is waay too effective.

That's about it. If you are interested in playing, please e-mail me at guillaumelamothe@yahoo.com. First come first served.

Good luck! I look forward to a long and immersive game.

Just to quibble about one of your assertions - Do you know what took place on December 18, 1944?

Hankow, China was fire-bombed by B-29's flying out of Chengtu. Originally planned to be a 101 plane raid 94 got airborne on 18 Dec. Although I suppose one could argue it was actually a port strike.

And ever heard of the Chonqqing (Chungking in our game) bombings?

City bombing was used a lot in China, and the organisation of Chinese industry was not unsimilar to the Japanese, so one could contend that city bombing works just as well, or badly, for China as Japan.

A home rule which forbids early strat bombing could be justified by the fact that damage is way too easy to deal, and way too hard to repair, but not on historical grounds.

I keep trying your email link and it keeps kicking me to hotmail instead of yahoo. I might be interested in a game, PM me and we can discuss it, if your still looking ...I'm not up on all the Jap construction processes in admiral addition, but have played Japs in original game, I prefer the Allies, but willing to look at Japenese.. so if interested, send me a PM
