I believe there is an issue with how automation handle troops. It seem to me valuable planets, other than the Capital (that usually have lots of troops), are left with token defense. Also, newly conquered planets tend to be left with just one troop, not that great when they are very likely to revolt or be taken back.

Personally, i would like to be able to set how many troops i want the automation to leave on planet so wandering transport and fleets don't take them away; i hate when my valuable planets are left with next to zero defense when i keep building more.

Maybe we should have an option to lock colonies of our choosing so that transports never load troops from them.

Not really a bug for the tech forum, you should put this in the wishlist.
