kojusoki1 -> Game crash due to "rest" option... (4/24/2011 6:23:38 PM)

hello
Here in the attachment you will find our savegame.
If the german BG at Helmond has REST enabled, the game will crash (allies will be deploying on Helomnd map, Germans at Hatert Bridge map!!)

If you remove the Rest order from 107 Pz Bde, all will be fine

Second thing (I am almost sure it has been already reported) is that when the active (main) BG is removed from a map, and a fresh BG moves INTO that map, all the VLs are lost. I dont find it realsitic - the BGs are just swapped. Noone would do this in real life - I mean give back the ground to the enemy and fight again. Its just man are swapped.

Thanks Kojuisoki1. Will have a look into this. What version of the game are you running?

On the map you are swapping BG's - is there an enemy BG on that map while you are swapping your BG's?

kojusoki1 -> RE: Game crash due to "rest" option... (4/26/2011 4:46:43 PM)

Yes, there is an enemy BG - but in my opinion, the ground should stay in my hands. Im not reporting a bug - its more a realism issue:)

There was a Helmond issue that was reported on an earlier build and has since been addressed ASSUMING of course that we're talking about the same issue. I need to verify which build you're using to know if you're seeing a new issue or it was the one we'd already fixed. Please let me know which build (version number) you saw that CTD on.

RE: swapping BG's - Actually that was considered and there is a solution in place. From a realism standpoint if you think about what would be required to swap a relief BG with an engaged BG it's no small task. It would wind up taking some time. So the process you have to go through in the game is a similar equivalent. The solution is this. You have a BG that is engaged with an enemy BG that you want to relieve. Leave the BG to be relieved engaged and attack the map with the replacement BG to make sure the attacking BG becomes the frontline BG. Then on the next turn you'll be able to move the reserve BG (the one you want to replace) off the map without losing ground to the enemy.

If you leave the map with the engaged BG without first replacing it, it makes sense you'd be required to lose ground for having left the battlefield before occupying your positions with the replacement BG.

Must admit that I'm with Oddball on this one... [:)]
In RL it takes hours to replace a Battalion-sizes front-line unit: It's so easy when Hollywood does it, but I don't dare to think about everything there is to think about! [&:]

re: 51b - okay that's a new issue. I'll post a report. Thanks for bringing it to our attention.

I forgot to ask kojusoki1. Is that saved game single player or multiplayer?

kojusoki1 -> RE: Game crash due to "rest" option... (4/27/2011 3:16:50 PM)

multiplayer.
It also has some experience and morale modifications.

kojusoki1 -> RE: Game crash due to "rest" option... (4/27/2011 3:18:49 PM)

also there are some issues with supply, but I have no savegames.
In 2 turns time allies will be in full supply again so we will see if the bridges will be under construction again. If not ill send you the savegame - mine and my friend

RD Oddball -> RE: Game crash due to "rest" option... (4/28/2011 6:34:19 PM)

Thanks for the extra info on the Helmond issue. Added to the report.

Re: supply issue - will need more info on the specific scenario so if you could summarize the specifics in a list (oxymoron?[:D]) and provide a saved game we'll look into it.

Hey kojusoki1, re: Helmond crash - our developer had a look at this and it worked fine for him in both single player and multiplayer modes. He asked you verify that both the client and host players both have the 51b installation and recommended you make certain you are both using identical installations. Make sure neither of you have modded any files or made any changes that might put you out of sync with the other player. Instead of going from memory the best way to handle it would be to start with clean installs of v51b and see if it's still giving you problems.

Let us know, thanks.

Ill be out for the next 7 days so Ill check it later.
Have a good weekend!
