I will be traveling alot in the next few months. Would I be able to successfully run the game on an iPad? Maybe different tablet computer.

Now that would be a reason to get an iPad! [:)]

Hi all,

WitE is programmed for PC x86 architecture... the iPad and all other similar devices from other manufacturers are incompatible (just as they are incompatible with every other program written for PC x86 architecture)... [;)]

You can read manual and post on forum from iPad ;)

Option one: if you have iPad and fast internet connection at home and during your travel, you can try VNC or Remote Desktop or TeamViewer connection to see the screen of your home PC and manipulate it. But that would probably be hard to play (cumbersome manipulation).

Option two: buy a tablet/tablet-netbook hybrid/netbook that runs Windows 7. There are already some in the market, though I don't know if they offer enough screen resolution to play WitE comfortably. And their slow processors would probably mean a long time for the AI to finish it's turn.

I'm in for such device, but I think the hardware and the software have to adapt a little better for mobile environment. I believe new dual or even quad core portable processors that will come by end of 2011, and Windows 8 that should probably run on ARM architecture as well, will open a plethora of options to play favorite Windows games on tablets in mid/late 2012.

I have a very fast internet connection, (30 Mbs down, 2 Mbs up) with a modern computer. When I visted my parents for the xmas holidays, I thought I could just remote in and play my turn on their new computer.... but it was agonizingly slow. It was far better for me to put it on my wifes old laptop and do my turns that way.

When accessing from outside it's the upstream speed that matters. 2 Mbs is not that much for remote desktop connection, about 4-5 would be good I guess.
