Pack Rat -> Warhorse are the icons up to date with 4.5? (12/25/2000 2:54:00 AM)

I was wondering if they all made it in. If anyone else might know, that would be good too. ------------------ Your mine is a terrible thing to lose. Pack Rat

The icon for the Soviet 12.7mm AAMG is now incorrect. The icon shows the MG unit with a light truck beside it. The unit is definitely foot troops. The icon in v4.4 was OK.

Yes, they are up to date, if you are running into problems, it's most likely either a wrong number in the oob(which they shouldn't be by now!), or, maybe the shp folder in the upgrade is nested?! ------------------ Mike Amos Meine Ehre Heisst Treue

OK, after a real quick investigation, I found the problem, someone changed the class of the weapon from HMG to flak, which is ok, but whereas MG's ar all hardcoded into a icon, flak requires a number!! You are getting the computers version of "what the hell am I supposed to show here"!! The icon number #664 should be entered into this weapons icon slot in the editor, that will fix it Only problem is that everyone will need to do this. Maybe I will release a temporary solution oob, I've fixed most of the problems with this one anyhow, so i'll see if I can post it for all to have for now.Hope this helps. ------------------ Mike Amos Meine Ehre Heisst Treue

Thanks for the reply. How to I get to the editor? Is this a download someplace?

Grimm -> (12/26/2000 6:36:00 AM)

Found the editor. I made the change. Thanks

Grimm, glad you got it squared away!! Later. ------------------ Mike Amos Meine Ehre Heisst Treue

Hungary Kv.50 as a Jet Czechoslovakia Arado-234b-2 as bunker Peugeot DK 5 as a Jet France Laffly v15t as a Jet Laffly s35t as a Plane

Warhorse -> (12/27/2000 1:37:00 AM)

Tumbleweed, can you check to make sure another 'shp' folder is not nested anywhere in your SPWAW directories? I've checked all these in my set, they are fine, and I just zipped them up from mine and sent them. I did notice by unzipping to a seperate temp folder that the lbm's and icons in the 'pic' and 'shp' folder respectively, were in their own folder!! So make sure they didn't just get unzipped like this, without overwriting the old ones. Thanks, hope this helps! ------------------ Mike Amos Meine Ehre Heisst Treue

Eisbaer -> (12/27/2000 5:28:00 PM)

I installed the SPWAW45Main.exe and didn't change it. The Hungary and France icons are correct, but the Czechoslovakia Arado-234b-2 is really a flying bunker! What a pity, that each OOB may only hold 255 different units (unlike SPWW2). There are many german weapons systems in foreign OOB's that will be never usable/upgradable in campaigns this way. I just noticed their existence for the first time! But this are really trifling matters compared with that great work, thanks a lot!

Warhorse -> (12/27/2000 9:03:00 PM)

Eisbaer, you can upgrade to them via the 'nation' button!! The flying fort is because someone took out the icon number!! They also left out new equipment I had put in, guess I'll have to redo that one...again ------------------ Mike Amos Meine Ehre Heisst Treue

Eisbaer -> (12/27/2000 9:16:00 PM)

Ouuups, I see! I didn't thought, that there is also an 'nation' button in the upgrade-screen. But thats an useful compromise now. I only had to know, that the Czech., Fin. and Norwegian OOB's are german expansion OOB's The flying Bunker should be icon 840, right? Does there exist an more complete Icon-Overview, then we could fix such little buggies on our own?

Wild Bill -> (12/27/2000 9:53:00 PM)

Warhorse, a couple of folks reported getting half-tracks for German paratroopers (fallshirmjager)when going from 4.4 to 4.5. Have you seen this?...WB ------------------ In Arduis Fidelis Wild Bill Wilder Coordinator, Scenario Design Matrix Games

Warhorse -> (12/28/2000 12:49:00 AM)

Hey Wild Man!! The reason for that is this; when you make a scenario, or campaign, whatever with one oob version, if opened with another that is different in any way from the one designed with, you will get icon inconsistencies!! I found out last night, I have a personal install based on the 2.3 oob's, as I liked the speeds and prices of them, anyhow, I run my campaign on that one. I hack each scenario in the campaign, ie, I end a campaign scenario, upgrade etc, deploy, then save. Change the save to scen, drop in the scenario folder, then redo the map, purchase enemy units, edit anything else to suit, then save before AI deploy, I then send the scen file to my brother who will deploy the AI forces, and maybe buy some 'surprises' per instructions, then sends it back. Well we both upgraded from 4.4-4.5, except he uses the 'official 4.5 oob's, I use 2.3 when I opened up the save to play, alot of things were displayed as American halftracks(the programs way of saying"I'm confused, here's the first icon in the run"), so I immediately exited w/o saving, changed to a scenario and opened it in the editor, and saved w/o changing a thing. Now when I opened it up in the save it was fine. I fear this is the problem folks are running into with WF, if the designers oob's differ in version than the current ones being used, it will display weirdness, as only some of the data from the designers oob is stored, the rest is taken from the current users oob, see what I mean? The only way to fix this is to open every scenario, save, whatever, and save each again w/o touching anything, the problem should disappear! This is a problem with campaigns, as each scenario would need to be resaved The only other alternative is equally as bad, to ship your oob's with the scen/campaign, then all the icons would be correct, unless it's the case of Czech where a number was removed for some reason!! Hope this helps, it sucks, but that's where most of the icon 'bugs' are from!! ------------------ Mike Amos Meine Ehre Heisst Treue
