ijontichy -> Keep on playing ... and a flaw (5/7/2011 11:41:32 AM)

It would be nice if Panzer Corps allowed us to continue playing a scenario past the allotted number of turns. Your original result would still stand, but you could keep playing to see if you could achieve all of your goals. How many times I came up just short on Moscow '43, surrounding the final Moscow hex, and yet unable to dislodge the over-strength infantry in it. To be able to play a few extra turns would have given me the satisfaction of conquering Moscow without the award of victory. A Pyrrhic victory indeed. But worth it all the same. One flaw I noticed with Panzer General Forever, and I don't remember now if it was the case with the original Panzer General, was defending units that you ignored stayed put and didn't try to join their colleagues further back, or attack my flanks, or even try to take poorly guarded city hexes. In a recent Moscow '43 scenario, I counted a total of 12 Soviet units sitting in their original front-line positions at the end of the game. At least half of them could have banded together and caused havoc in my rear. But I guess it's not easy designing AI that can handle this situation.
