Without trying to sound like I'm complaining, how exactly did you attempt to launch the game?

1.> Using the H3 Launcher?
or
2.> Using the game's autorun feature?

I created a shortcut for the H3 Launcher and placed it on my desktop. I DO NOT use the Matrix Autorun program, although it works for me, I tend to leave the H3 Launcher since I use the various programs at the same time.

I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate and I've been able to run the various game executables with and without compatibility mode and Admin rights. Your issue may be related to using the Matrix Autorun launcher which, may mean you need to configure the game before using this feature. The Autorun window requires you to select the "H3 Configuration" option to change the game configuration, whereas simply clicking "Play" means you circumvent the configuration and might just be leading to the game appearing to fail to start.

To help with further diagnosis, navigate to the following directory based on a standard installation structure:

C:\Matrix Games\Harpoon 3 Advanced Naval Warfare\ATOut

There will be a set of files labelled as follows:
debug_H3_b0.txt - (Standard single player game)
debug_Scenedit_b0
debug_H3Editor_b0
etc depending on which executable you've tried to start.

Copy and paste the text from the file here and I'll take a look and see if we can't find what's happening.

Cheers

Darren
