FNG -> Unit routs from threat (5/13/2011 4:47:42 PM)

How is this triggered? I have an HMG squad that is running away from an AFV 600m away that is not shooting at it, and there are not other visible enemy. Seems a bit strange...

That's based on the SOP. What is it seeing in total, just one AFV? If so, what kind? What is its SOP set to?

It's a regular HMG MG34, SOP Standard, and it was a lone T-26 (just got cooked).

Was the HMG out in the open?

Good Hunting.

Initially it was in trees (had the in cover icon) and was about 30m from its HQ unit, which was unfazed even by the four BT-7s that turned up soon afterwards.

Well, for whatever reason those guys didn't like that tank. They take morale checks when there is a threat and they didn't pass theirs. They should have come back under your control soon after that. I would think an HMG unit wouldn't be green but that could factor into it as well.

Good Hunting.

Hi FNG,

That sounds a bit odd. Are you sure it didn't see the additional tanks before it decided to withdraw? This may be a case where a save would be helpful. We tested SOP (which is new to Ostfront) extensively, but it could be you found some kind of corner case.

Hey, if all I had was an MG34 and saw a tank coming, I'd think twice before hanging around :) It did come back under my control, then bugged out again when it saw another AFV, and finally came back under my control. I'm cool with it as a function, just checking that it's within the realms of the possible!

Thanks for the answers.
