Max 86 -> RE: Need for Player Created Game Manual? (5/28/2011 3:17:00 PM)

Not at all. I wasn't sure what the best way to post it would be. Thanks alot.

Now for the rest of the community, I am relying on you guys to sort out what needs to be corrected, added, deleted etc. We will be adding the tables a little later so I would also like to include some player feedback on what we have so far for that draft release. . I am pretty sure I have done a poor job of explaining Attack, Defense and AT values for units listed in Section 4. And I think the title stinks too. I am sure there are other things as well.

So basically it is up to us to flesh this thing out the way we want. Your feedback is appreciated.

At the end of this there will be both A4 and US page size versions available.

Fred98 -> RE: Need for Player Created Game Manual? (5/30/2011 8:06:32 AM)

Page 75 "Modifying Factors Disruption level of Unit".

I think the left column of disruption levels was left off in error. I presume it should be:

Disruption Levels
1
2
3
4

It should probably read:

0 = x 1.00
1 = x 0.75
2 = x 0.50
3 = x 0.25
4 = x 0.10

Or I might have got it back to front!

Thanks. I will make the corrections.

LarryP -> RE: Need for Player Created Game Manual? (5/31/2011 1:58:31 AM)

Thanks for the manual! I went through every page today and appreciate your hard work more than I can say here. [&o]

Max 86 -> RE: Need for Player Created Game Manual? (5/31/2011 4:20:37 AM)

Don't forget this is a draft copy. If we can get some feedback and comments in the next week or so we can release Rev0 by next week.[:)]

xnavytc -> RE: Need for Player Created Game Manual? (5/31/2011 3:43:57 PM)

great manual, I do have a question in the manual, there is no mention of the assualt defense phase, I still havent figured this one out yet, would be good to get an explanation of this in the manual and any help given would be greatly appreciated.

xnavytc -> RE: Need for Player Created Game Manual? (5/31/2011 3:47:05 PM)

sorry the assault defense phase, also, has a end defense designation phase???? both of these phases happen just before the allied movement phase. putting an explanation for these in the manual would be great.

I will expand on the assault defense explanation. It is one of the many things that require further clarification. If you have any input from your playing experience, write something up either here on the forum or a separate word file and I will include it in the manual.

Obsolete -> RE: Need for Player Created Game Manual? (6/1/2011 4:38:46 AM)

My computer blew up last week, getting things slowly under control now.

I"m a bit tired so I may be missing the obvious, but weren't we supposed to have a reserved Wiki page by now for Combat Command to edit?

PirateJock -> RE: Need for Player Created Game Manual? (6/1/2011 7:56:19 AM)

Hi Obsolete

Yes, I was going to set one up but haven't got to it yet. Don't know if anybody else uses Wikipedia but, unless I'm doing something wrong, it's not that user friendly for page layout and formatting. I'll start up a thread when I've got it live ... I'd like to say sometime next week [;)]

Cheers

Obsolete -> RE: Need for Player Created Game Manual? (6/1/2011 3:46:29 PM)

Next week is fine, I should be back and I guess we can take it a little at a time.

Max 86 -> RE: Need for Player Created Game Manual? (6/2/2011 12:54:20 PM)

Pirate,

If you want to start with the Word file of the game manual let me know and I will send it to you.

PirateJock -> RE: Need for Player Created Game Manual? (6/2/2011 1:13:05 PM)

Hi Max

If you could send me the Word file that'd be great. Also I am working on the Tables & Charts section ... honest [;)]

Thanks

There is a chart on P79 of the game manual.

In my mini manual I split the chart into 2 charts. One covering movement and another covering combat. Makes them both easier to follow.

+1

Joe, if there are specific things you would like to add to our little manual project please feel free to load us up. I am keeping track of all of your feedback as best as I can but if you have it compiled and want to share I'm sure it would be appreciated by many of us here.[&o]

Fred98 -> RE: Need for Player Created Game Manual? (6/2/2011 11:44:36 PM)

The manual has no charts or tables covering artillery fire.

But we cannot make it up. The developers need to provide it.

Yep you got that right, I'm one of the many.

johnsonkid -> RE: Need for Player Created Game Manual? (6/10/2011 9:54:31 AM)

Having read the manual about 4 times I reckon almost everything is there.

A better idea is to list omissions and errors and bad english have a new manual included in the patch.

Feel free to work something up and it will be added to the manual. This is a community project so everyone is welcome. This is not a Matrix led effort so getting an updated manual with the next patch might be a reach. Considering that Matrix has not identified one person that is involved in the update or given any time to discuss anything remotely related to this game I feel it is unlikely they will offer anything of note. I guess I am feeling a little pissy about this today! Excuse my shortness.

junk2drive -> RE: Need for Player Created Game Manual? (6/10/2011 1:33:26 PM)

It is a spam post.

PirateJock -> RE: Need for Player Created Game Manual? (6/10/2011 2:17:17 PM)

A poor state of affairs where a spammer is providing better feedback about a game than the developer [:-]

What is the world coming to [X(]

Hey Max 86

Some things are worth getting worked up about, other things, like games, aren't. Do it while you're enjoying it ... and when you don't, stop.

And here ends today philosophical musings!

Cheers

sabre1 -> RE: Need for Player Created Game Manual? (6/10/2011 3:01:21 PM)

Max 86, PirateJock,

I really do appreciate the effort you guys are putting into creating a better manual. Don't burn out, enjoy the game, I doubt you are going to get much help from the developer. If he was going to help he would have posted something by now.

He made his money, and we can go pound sand. (I'm sure it wasn't that much money). lol

This game could have been a contender for one of the best, but just misses because of the lack of support.

Check out Horse and Musket tech support. Another user is getting the run around on unreadable fonts. That is a boku game too.

I feel like we are running around an empty room shouting and no one really cares.

Maybe there is about 9 of us that post here, and I know for sure we lost one of those due to the combat/movement issues, and the lack of developer input. Some games deserve to die the good death, this wasn't one of them.

Of course Joe continues to kick the " " out of me. At least the turns are quick. [:D]

PirateJock -> RE: Need for Player Created Game Manual? (6/10/2011 3:12:42 PM)

And just to show we're still going ...

Here's the draft of the Tables & Charts section which will be included in the player created manual - here

I have completely reformatted and rearranged. Please let me know (i) if there's anything I've got wrong or misinterpreted (likely!) and (ii) how easy is it to read/understand.

Cheers

Max 86 -> RE: Need for Player Created Game Manual? (6/10/2011 3:54:27 PM)

Tables look great.

Don't worry about me. I'm good. [:D]

junk2drive -> RE: Need for Player Created Game Manual? (7/18/2011 3:19:03 AM)

Any word on this? Or are you waiting for 1.02?

PirateJock -> RE: Need for Player Created Game Manual? (7/18/2011 9:31:15 AM)

Tim Coakley's contacted Max86, so maybe something will be included in v1.02.

I'm going to finish off the Tables & Charts sections this week ... just the last few sections to complete.

Any comments on this or the rest of the manual gratefully received.

Cheers
