Kensai -> Repairing Railroads (5/23/2011 12:46:31 PM)

Hi,

I just started my first GC Axis campaign this weekend and there is one problem which I cannot seem to solve (maybe there are more I've not run into yet) is how to repair the raillines fast enough. In the first round, I had a couple of rail repair units with witch I repaired about three hex RR in the first turn. In the 2nd turn, these units vanished and instead the HQs deployed a handful of these units with no movementpoints automatically.

I'm not sure but isthere really only about max. ONE further hex per line repaired each turn?

I'm pretty sure I've doing something wrong so it would be nice if someone could enlighten me how to repair more then 0/1 random hexes per turn.

I'm on turn 4 in my first GC as axis and have repaired the rail to Riga and 3 hexes past Vilno. Maybe you placed your manual repair units to close to russian combat units without protection?

first turn you must have 4 rail repair
you got another one when Rumania activate
all these repair between 3 to 6 hex per turn (depend baltic zone or other)

If thatīs true dont despair, they are doing his work [;)]

Russian sources indicated that 2,800,000 Germans, Italians, Japanese, Hungarians and French were working on a northern link of the Trans-Siberian railway.

If an enemy unit moves adjacent to your rail repair unit, or it starts the turn adjacent to an enemy but has a friendly combat unit in the hex, and you move that combat unit, the rail (just like an HQ) will make a displacement move.  Look around behind the lines, odds are they've moved somewhere back there on their own. [;)]  Easiest way to find them, check the commanders report, and look for the FBD units in there.

Or hit the railroad button at the top to display repair status and the FBD's will be highlighted in orange on the map. Zoom out to the highest levels and you should be able to see where all of them are.
