When I chose the sIG 33 II in the scenario editor it appears as the Pz II in the game. Needs fixing. [:)]

there are a few vehicles in the game that still use 'generic' models. These units came from one of the earlier games and we didn't want to remove them, but also didn't have the time/resources to replace. We also hoped maybe some enterprising modeller might be so offended as to take it upon himself to to a new model.

Thanks

When Koios originally made PC, they included a lot of xmls for units that they didn't have 3d models for. We (not me, but the talented people) managed to make the most important ones and get them into the game.

Some xmls may even be for units that were not on the East Front.

I see. Well, I seldom use any of these two vehicles, so it can wait. I hope this is it though. [:D]

The good news is that the only thing missing are the vehicle mods. All the vehicles stats are already in the game.

Good Hunting.

That's good news? [:D]

The sIG 33 II was not on the Ost Front AFAIK. Afrika only; wiped out.

Users can make a mock up of that sIG 33 II that looks pretty close and uses the historically correct chassis (PzII F).

I call them chimaeras. ('monsters of two parts')

Erik R et al hates these (chimaeras). But for users to make, whats not to like? (But remember sIG33 II wasn't in theatre; and it was probably gelb [tan])

Edit the 'sIG 33 II'.XML (save back up first!). File's in:

Data/ArmouredUnits/ file = sIG 33 II.XML (Open file with notepad. At bottom is the path to the model.)

You only have to change one or two entries (as bolded below):

:::::

<set setid="default">
<models compendium="_Pics/Compendium sturmpanzer II.png">
<model name="base" filename="Pz Kpfw IIF/body_F.x"/>

<model name="turret" filename="122MM M1938/body.x" />

<model name="right_tread" filename="Pz Kpfw IIF/treadR.x"/>
<model name="left_tread" filename="Pz Kpfw IIF/treadL.x"/>
<model name="right_wheels" filename="Pz Kpfw IIF/wheelsR.x"/>
<model name="left_wheels" filename="Pz Kpfw IIF/wheelsL.x"/>
<model name="treadMarks" filename="Pz Kpfw IIF/Treads.x"/>

<model name="commander"
filename="\..\Infantry\GER SP AG COMMAND\german_tankcommander01.x"/>

------
As Rick and J2J said, the previous game had some XML files in it but without models. We couldn't delete those files but we couldn't get to the model(s) --especially if not in theater.

None of those 'generic vehicle' units are in any of the campaigns or scenarios.

I suppose Koios--the previous devs--made all the XMLs they could --with the armor points, guns, speeds and dates-- while they had the real data files in front of them.
