Im on the fence right now, trying the demo.Looks good and Im considering buying. Is it not possible to move individual vehicles/sections?Are they tied into command unit? They always move as group? Also the screen moved from an above/behind view to a side view.Is there a way to adjust?

They are tied to the command unit but it is possible to move them without moving the command element. It would depend on the orders given to the platoon. Some orders allow the individuals more freedom than other orders. An order like Engage allows the command element to either move or be stationary and or fire. Each sub unit also has that choice.

It is possible to move individual units but subject to following the base order of the platoon.

The ~ or Home key will position the camera above the center of mass of your troops. The 1 2 3 keys will give you different view heights. The scroll wheel zooms in and out. Holding the Alt key while moving your mouse rotates and tilts the camera. Touching the mouse pointer to the screen edges scrolls. Tab puts you in Commander view, shoulder high behind the CO. Tab again unlocks this to behind the unit.

I don't know about the alt key and mouse but holding down the mouse wheel and turning the mouse right or left also turns the camera right or left. Holding down the mouse wheel and moving the mouse up or down tilts the camera up or down.

Same thing. Just easier to explain.

Good both ways work. I use a kensington track ball and the wheel on it cannot be pressed. Using ALT + the trackball works great.[;)]

A lot of the hotkeys and controls were added for people with laptops and alternative mouse solutions.

Talking about moves....For a terrible moment I thought they would drive straight through the river...

If you are playing as the Germans that's not a good sight!

Good Hunting.

It sure isn't. Fortunately the river was too deep, at least I think so, since they don't come any further than this. But there are two bridges over which they pour in, so I'm having enough trouble as it is. Can rivers be made crossable btw?

Mad Russian -> RE: moves (5/29/2011 5:08:59 AM)

Yes, you can make rivers fordable.

Good thing for you that those T-34's can't ford there.

Good Hunting.

Section 5.6 covers terrain and movement with charts. There is deep water that is impassable and shallow water that allows fording with a penalty on the speed.
