neuromancer -> 1.04.24 Beta Issue 1 - 0 strength units (5/31/2011 11:50:37 PM)

In my current 1.04.24 Beta game I saw an odd thing. Some Soviet units were showing up as zero strength, and when you attack them they have no men or equipment, take no losses, cause no losses, and then 'rout'. Still required an attack to get rid of them though, you couldn't move through them, and they exerted a ZOC.

I was considering having the commander of the panzer division shot for cowardice. "But there MIGHT be enemy over there... somewhere..."

On one occassion there was a unit I couldn't attack, although I could after I attacked a unit next to it.

Looks like depleted unit adjacent to the the enemy hex after logistic phase (old known issue). Theoretically you don't need to attack it. Just move combat unit nearby to cause displacement. Also depleted units shouldn't exert ZOC.

They sometimes displace, not always.  And that one that I had trouble attacking definitely had a ZOC.

I might have the autosave for that turn if you want me to upload it.

I need save if stack of depleted unit(s) with no un-depleted combat units is not displacing.

Okay... woot! Found it!

Hex 78, 28 - right next to the 36th Motorized, so it starts the turn there.

I tried a few experiments after looking up the file, and its not acting quite as bad as I thought. It doesn't actually cost any MP to do the attack and force it to move, and I don't think its exerting a ZOC either.

So not as big a bug as I thought, still, something to look at.

Included the event log for the turn, just to be complete.
