born2see -> Newbie Question About the Tutorials (6/8/2011 10:36:38 AM)

I just installed TOAW with the latest patch and being new to this game I started with the tutorial Anonymous Heroics (Red PO). However the map locations in the docs don't match the scenario at all. I know this game has been around for many years so I'm thinking this is a legacy problem or it may be that I'm just inept. Please don't hesitate to tell me so.

Thanks

I don't know. The following paragraph matches all the units mentioned. Didn't go too far into the document:

"To begin, we will select the 3rd Regiment of the 4th Infantry division in hex (1,6). Left click on the unit to select it. Notice that the unit now has a brass colored border outlining its hex. Also notice that there are silver colored outlines on the units in hexes (3,5), (3,7), and (5,7)."

Are you looking at the document in the Sub folder named Tutorial located in the Scenarios folder?

The path on my computer is C:/Matrix Games/The Operational Art of War III/Scenarios/Tutorials

I'm an idiot.  My options were set to "hotseat".  When I changed them to "Red computer vs human player" all worked as stated.  I'm not sure if "hotseat" was the default but all is well now.  Thanks for your quick response and help.

RTFM Dave. From the Scenario Docs: "With the Anonymous Heroics (Red PO) scenario still selected, click on the fourth button from the left until you see “Red computer vs. human player is selected” in the text at the bottom of the screen."

Sorry about that...
