Security divisions are used to garrison cities and to reduce partisans. But you will not get partisans early on with the Germans, so you can just neglect them at first. However you should check out the railroad repair units; there are those that do their thing automatically (you can't move them yourself), and there are four or five that have movement points. Those whould be used to fix your railroads towards the East, because the railheads are your supply sources and once you outrun them, the game becomes more difficult. You can leave the air war on automatic without serious consequences, however at the start of each turn press the recon button then "a" to automatically do air recon. Then do the same with bombing airfields. Then send your Panzers forward and pocket as many Russians as you can. If you are playing on Easy, Soviet counterattacks by the AI are not dangerous early on, it is essentially a race to get as far as fast as possible. You can occasionally break down a Divisioninto its 3 components to help close a pocket, but I hardly ever do it early on. There is a lot of useful advice on the Wiki and in the AARs. There is even a thread on the detailed German first move. Henri
