Nice equation!  [;)]

Not only nice, but correct!
Although I am not a mathematician, I do play one at sea.

Miller -> RE: Next "Official" Patch release date (7/19/2011 11:49:03 PM)

BUMP.

How may more Betas do we have to have?[8|]

PaxMondo -> RE: Next "Official" Patch release date (7/20/2011 12:01:31 AM)

1000.

at least!!!

Go Michael Go!!!

jcjordan -> RE: Next "Official" Patch release date (7/20/2011 12:06:31 AM)

Is Michael trying to set a Guinness World Record for # of betas ? [:'(]

Miller -> RE: Next "Official" Patch release date (7/20/2011 12:19:16 AM)

I don't want to come across as impatient or ungrateful as I'm sure everyone involved is doing a top job. I have been made aware that the next patch may well be the last, therefore they want to sort out as much as possible before releasing it.

All hail "The team"[&o]

Miller, honestly - use the Beta. You will love it and you can trust it at least as much as the official release. If you are worried then just don't jump on a new Beta as soon as it comes out. [8D]

I usually update to the newest beta around a week after Michael puts it up. All issues with the newest beta are found and fixed within a day, two at most. I view the beta's as official because I've updated so many times and haven't had any problems, as long as I wait between 2 and 5 days to jump to the next one.

+1 to the "all hail the team" (but, I think Michael is 95% of the team now.)

I think he's got some help with testing yet ...

I would gladly do so but my opponent does not want to[:(]

I think there lies a problem. An offical Patch means both sides upgrade in a PBEM situation. At least the front end upgrade manager finds the offical patch and some encouragement to do so is in place to faciliate same. It also implies backwards compatibility unless explictly stated that the patch is not backwards compatiable with PBEM games in progress. That makes a sticky release problem ...a problem not brought to the surface with a buyer beware Beta expectation ..

Crackaces -> RE: Next "Official" Patch release date (8/9/2011 3:31:01 PM)

Not to double post .. but that does beg the question .. when will be the next offical release and will it be backwards compatiable with PBEM games in progress?

PaxMondo -> RE: Next "Official" Patch release date (8/9/2011 3:55:49 PM)

seems about 50% of the AAR's have updated to the beta ... think you've been answered.

ok ...is it backwards compatible?

vonTirpitz -> RE: Next "Official" Patch release date (8/9/2011 11:01:56 PM)

In a nutshell, yes. You can load and play a PBEM from the last official patch using the latest beta.

chesmart -> RE: Next "Official" Patch release date (8/10/2011 6:43:12 PM)

Is it true next patch will be the last ? If yes will support stop for AE ?

Ossian -> RE: Next "Official" Patch release date (8/15/2011 8:41:17 PM)

Actually, I'm just reinstalling after a reformat- what was the last official patch, was it the one from the end of November? I seem to remember there being one in December but I'm guessing that was a beta.

witpqs -> RE: Next "Official" Patch release date (8/15/2011 8:48:58 PM)

1106i was the last official patch.

Check. That's what I thought. Cheers!

Miller -> RE: Next "Official" Patch release date (9/2/2011 4:23:07 PM)

Any nearer to a definative date?

Numdydar -> RE: Next "Official" Patch release date (9/3/2011 1:16:47 AM)

You are not going to get a date. My PBEM partner and I have upgraded several times now with no issues and we are in April of '43.

You REALLY need to upgrade as there have been several major problems that have been fixed on both sides that adversely affect both sides. Why does your opponent not want to? It will NOT require a restart of the game. Trust me we have done it twice now and will do it again shortly.

Michaelm is up to q2. When he gets to z26 Matrix will be forced to have an Official update.

Couldn't he just keep going with something like z26a1.....[sm=00000280.gif]
