This may have a mild spoiler so read at your own risk. It has gotten nothing but bad reviews. I saw this yesterday and I will say that it is not a bad movie. In fact the only problem with the movie, really, is that it isn't a great movie. I think that the big problem is that it never realizes its potential. Green Lantern is a difficult character. The idea of a superhero that derives his powers from 'will' is something that is difficult to comprehend. I think the movie overcomes this hurdle, for the most part. In places the dialogue is filled with a little too much schmaltz. But it is a comic book after all. Some of the scenes where Hal Jordan is 'finding himself' are a little slow also. On the whole I didn't feel that I wasted my money. Go and see the movie expecting to be entertained. If you go into it expecting a kind of religious experience you will be let down. And there is nothing wrong with being simply entertained. MJ
