Except the player doesnt know when they're available to BGs that arent in Major or Minor supply. Information that "higher HQ can reinforce your AB BG with a company of armor if you can help open the route" should be available to the player since it could very well impact his strat move decisions. As it stands, players have no clue when reinforcements are available - they just seem to happen. It would help if, starting on the turn a BG has available reinforcements, if its strat icon was marked by some indication.

LSA "workbook" question - in the FPools.txt file, what does the 3rd value (either 0 or 1) in each row of reinforcement data represent? The 1st value is Turn; the 2nd value is Major/Minor supply (2 or 1); the 3rd value = ???.

Have to check but iirc will attempt to keep testing for supply on subsequent turns if not able to reinforce on stated turn.

checked and correct - also fixed spelling issues caused by using telephone to post here. (Geek)

Thx. The search is always less onerous once you have a hint as to what youre looking for.
You'da thunk this sorta hide-n-seek with the data would've become less torturous by now.

Wouldn't you

OK, thats also what Im seeing...now that I know what Im looking at. If the 'recheck supply status' flag is 0, and that BG wasnt in supply on the reinforcement arrival turn, those reinforcements will never happen.

The only BGs with a 'recheck supply status' flag = 0 are Allied AB BGs. The fact that the player is unaware that reinforcements may be available is compounded by the bug that makes Allied AB BGs always have automatic minor supply. So you have a situation where the Allied player never feels any need to keep minor supply paths open to his AB BGs. Thus he misses out on reinforcements that he never knew were available.

LSA reinforcement schedule:

Never getting reinforcements because the BG they were supposed to arrive at on specific turn was not in supply doesn't seem right. Those forces should join another BG within the same formation or be held to supply is re-established....

The game manual, usually sketchy on these kind of details, has it in black and white (p.58)-

The units available to the Battle Group will be dependent on Forcepool reinforcements. There are units that are added to the Battle Group’s Forcepool by the AI. There [sic] reinforcements arrive on a specific day and time (including night time), and may be dependent on the Battle Group being in supply from a specific level of supply source (limited or full). These reinforcements could be lost if the Reinforcement Battle Group does not have that level of supply at the exact time required.

Of course having just stated this large caveat in the manual, it should have occurred to someone that it would only be fair to give the players some idea about the reinforcement schedule.

If reinforcements were held until supply was re-established, you wouldnt need the "re-check supply" flag in the reinforcement data. The "join another BG in the same formation" is another variable that could be tested for...or we could wait indefinitely for the data workbook to just spell it out.

And, to be fair, somebody did provide players have a general idea of the reinforcement schedule. From the CCLSA Manual Addendum in /Manuals:

Battle Groups can also receive reinforcements in the form of additional teams added to their Forcepool. Forcepool reinforcements arrive at a specific day and time, and their arrival may be dependent on the Battle Group being in supply from a specific level of supply source (limited or full). Most Forcepool reinforcements will simply be held back until the Battle Group achieves a clear supply line, and will arrive at the end of that turn. However, parachute or glider borne reinforcements for an Allied airborne Battle Group can be lost if the Battle Group cannot trace a supply line back to a friendly controlled drop zone (represented by limited supply depots) at the time the reinforcements arrive. The Operation or Campaign briefing will give the timing of additional airborne “lifts” to the Allied player, so they know when they need to control the drop zones and have a clear supply line to receive these reinforcements to their airborne Battle Groups.
