Zakhal -> Mein Krieg - Amateur WW2 Films by German Soldiers (6/29/2011 8:45:24 AM)

While playing WITE I found this film made by german soldiers on eastern front. Lots of interesting video material I have never seen before in any ww2 documentary. The german vets who made the film are also commenting it.

Its available as parts in youtube: (total lenth of parts 1 hour 30 minutes)

Part 1

Awsome! I'm sure there are still a lot of film being held in private by former German soldiers. If you take notice, almost every vid of WW2 combat are collages of various very short takes of combat. I'd rather see the original uncut film.

Very interesting, thanks.

There are several other documents of this kind
for those interested.
This is in german but Iam sure that outside germany this footage never will be seen in public TV channels

Mit der Kamera nach Stalingrad (WIth the camera to Stalingrad)
This was filmed by a german landser of the 29th MOT Infantry Division (sent to support Panzer-Korps Guderian at Tula) from the start of the campaign until they reached Stalingrad as part of the 6th Army in Sept 42. Other surviving members of this division are commenting the footage.UNCUT AND UNCENSORED this footage was forgotten in a basement for over 5 decades. Iam afraid this is not dubbed in english but its freakin awesome material.

Mit der Kamera an die Ostfront 1939-42 (With the camera to the eastern front 1939-42)
This was filmed by embedded war correspondent Götz Hirt-Reger who filmed since being a boy. All of the material was unofficially filmed with his second own camera and not meant for the german propaganda show.A lot of the footage is in colour and in an awesome quality

No, those I posted are different footage [:)]

Jeffrey H. -> RE: Mein Krieg - Amateur WW2 Films by German Soldiers (7/1/2011 5:11:01 AM)

There does appear to be some overlap.

Bump for some very good footage.

Stoat -> RE: Mein Krieg - Amateur WW2 Films by German Soldiers (10/15/2011 6:34:25 AM)

A bump and a thanks to Zakhal & Chris10 for links to some amazing footage, wünsch' nur daß mein Schulknabedeutsch besser wäre (wish I could understand it better).

Checked out http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T5d8XxtlpqQ, März, 1944. First impression: Holy Selber Scheiß, anderer Tag, Batman. Mud, mud, mud. Good LOL at 4:40 as we see a hochwies'lischer Parteibonze (some big cheese) rolling by all the guys struggling in the dreck in a pony-wagon hauling him n' his sweet devushka. Carrying a horsewhip all cocky like & with such a smirk on his face that you instantly feel he'd be at the top of a lot of the boys' "To Frag" list.

Even so, "preußiche Feldmarschälle meutern nicht" ("Homey don't play that" or words to that effect), I guess. Thanks again for the great footage!
