john dobbins -> american kamikazes (6/30/2011 4:23:35 PM)

I am playing the allies vs. the computer. As of Feb. 15, 1945 American planes began attacking Japanes ships as kamikazes. Anyone have any idea how to stop this?

Please post a save game file here as attachment, so they can have a look. You'll have to make it as .zip I think.

john dobbins -> RE: american kamikazes (6/30/2011 5:14:21 PM)

I believe this is the correct file.

michaelm75au -> RE: american kamikazes (7/1/2011 2:34:04 AM)

Using the beta I can't see any combat report showing that the Allied planes flew as Kamikazes or acted as one during a TF attack.

However, you are still using the original AE release (1079). I don't even have a working copy of that on my dev PC. There have been so many bug fixes applied since then. So around Kamikazes.

I would suggest that you at least get up to the lastest official patch (1106i, IIRC).

If you have an autosave at the end of the turn where the Allies were kamikazes, attach that. The reports for the return are held in the save. At least that will show when the message shows up - it could have just been a reporting bug.

If you check the ship sunk ledger, you will see Japanese vessels sunk by Kamikaze attack.

I'm a little nervous about that, since I've put so much time in this scenario so far. Right after I sent the message about the usn kamikazes, I saw a download that appeared to be the latest (I'm not sure which one it was). The next day in the game that I played, I sent an air raid on the airbase at Phuket and four Oscars shot down about a hundred of my bombers. Not willing to continue with that I uninstalled the game and reloaded it and took up where I left off before.

If you're not playing PBEM there is an easier way.
Save your results (turns) in consecutive slots ( I use the calendar date - so save of say 24May1943 goes into save slot 24).
When something goes wrong I re-load the last turn, and can re-do as I please.

BTW, the current patch (1108p1) is in Post #1 of the Tech Forum thread "Patch 06 - Public Beta - Build 1108p1 updated 25 June".

Agree with the multiple save slots, disagree with the last paragraph.

The OP should know that the latest OFFICIAL patch is 1106i. The Beta patch, whilest popular with some players, is not the current OFFICIAL patch. I would advise not updating to the Beta patch, bearing in mind the OP original presenting complaint.

Rainer -> RE: american kamikazes (7/1/2011 6:57:26 PM)

deleted (I made a mistake, sorry).

Do you have any combat reports that show the Allied planes attacking as kamikazes?

The 'sunk by' in the list was updated in patch 2 (build 1096??). Currently is is reporting as 'unknown' when I look at the list.

john dobbins -> RE: american kamikazes (7/5/2011 6:30:29 PM)

I don't know how to capture or copy that so I can show it to you.

also, where do I go to get update 1106i ?

Press "print screen" then paste the image in any graphics program (irfan view eg) safe as .jpg upload to forum [;)]

john dobbins -> RE: american kamikazes (7/5/2011 7:49:37 PM)

Thanks Alpha77, I copied it to a Word file if that's ok.

You can see that the armoured cruiser Suzuya for one was sunk by a Kamikaze.

And MichaelM, never mind on 1106i, thats the one that gave me trouble on this game in progress. I'll wait til I'm done with it to download 1106i. Thanks, John

Whoops! I just tried to upload it. I guess Word is not supported here. I'll see if I can get that graphics program you mentioned, Alpha77

john dobbins -> RE: american kamikazes (7/5/2011 8:00:32 PM)

OK, here is the irfanview pic.

Alpha77 -> RE: american kamikazes (7/11/2011 1:48:16 AM)

See works great.

Seems like this is a kind of fog of war or "friendly fire" incident ?

john dobbins -> RE: american kamikazes (7/12/2011 4:31:33 PM)

Well, the Americans lost Avengers and Helldivers in the process, so not freindly fire.
