LeadMeister,

Looking at the screenshot you posted, if you are checking the FPS at that viewpoint, I wouldn't expect grass to be an issue as not much grass is in the view.

The game fairly CPU intensive. Is the game lagging? If it is, you could try turning down some of the options in the configuration screen. I would experiment with those, perhaps AA and AF and see if that improves the performance. The Demo game should be a fair indicator of how the full game will perform, although some of the larger maps in the full game are a bit more demanding.

Thanks
Rick

Hi Leadmeister,

What settings are you using for the game? If you launch the game with a "/c" command line argument, the configuration screen will come up again. Also, in the in-game options, if you turn off Shadows, do you see any change?

The demo Novy Rizadey scenario is fairly resource intensive. What do you get for FPS on the tutorial scenario?

Regards,

- Erik

LeadMeister,

thanks for posting those tips on improving performance. Myself, I like to leave grass toggled on and only disable it if there's a problem. Most of the time it doesn't impact me much.

and yeah, I'd forgotten that smoke can be a real FPS killer. When I first started playingh PCK, I learned that in the BootCamp Scenario. I had an older machine and when I laid down a smoke screen, I recall it really impacting performance. I'd forgotten that until you mentioned it.

Thanks again
Rick

None of your suggestions made any real difference for me. In the demo scenario only turing off trees makes a real difference.
