wolfclan -> Windows 7 Wide Screen (7/5/2011 12:47:36 PM)

I changed towers, same monitor. On the Windows XP tower, wide screen, all worked well after I put in the -px1600 -py900 setting. On my new computer, I now have Windows 7 and a new processor AMD Phenom II X6 1065T, 64 bit. I've tried various combinations on the command line, but nothing seems to work. The game opens fine, but the right half of the strategic map and the menu bar is cut off. I've uninstalled/reinstalled a couple of times. I'm using version 1.0.4.1106i. This is the latest try on the quick start/target line:
"C:\Matrix Games\War in the Pacific Admiral's Edition\autorun.exe" -SingleCpuOrders -f -px1600 -py900.

Any suggestions?
Thanks

You have put the command line options on the wrong short cut.
It needs to be on the shortcut where the target is
"C:\Matrix Games\War in the Pacific Admiral's Edition\War in the Pacific Admiral's Edition.exe" -SingleCpuOrders -f -px1600 -py900

I put it in the line named: Target. Right under target location

It should not say 'autorun.exe'. That is the wrong shortcut.

There is normally 2 shortcuts on the desktop. See if you can find the one with the target as
"C:\Matrix Games\War in the Pacific Admiral's Edition\War in the Pacific Admiral's Edition.exe"

I only see one shortcut on the desktop. When I go to properties, then shortcut, I see a target line and a start in line. If I take the autorun out of the target line, the game does not open, the folder containing the files opens. If I try to put the instructions on the start in line, I get a invalid path error. I'm sure I'm missing something very obvious

Right click the short cut from the main screen. Select properties. Select the shortcut tab. Confirm that it is the autorun.exe. CHange the selection in the "Run" dropdown menu to maximized. No need for command line options.

I'm using a Windows 7 laptop and what I described works perfectly on my machine.

Yes, but it is the wrong short cut. Go to the game folder, select the .exe file and right click then select create shortcut. Move the shortcut from the folder to the desktop. Now you have the right shortcut to set the switches

I swear mine works fine with the autorun.exe as the target in the shortcut as I describe above! It starts the menu screen full screen, I click play and the game starts full screen.

Yes, but that is standard resolution. The OP wants his own resolution.

oohhhhh.... nevermind. I'm playing mine with the onboard Intel graphics and not the NVIDIA GPUs.

Creating the new shortcut did it. Didn't even have to mess with the cpu, works fine with just the -f -px1600 -py900 switches.
Thanks pompack and michaelm
