Canuck_jp -> Matrix games and Windows security (7/11/2011 4:15:43 PM)

Just a quick question but why do Matrix games always trigger the Windows Account Control security asking me if I want to allow this program to make changes to my computer every time I try to run them? I have both CC:TLD and Panzer Corps on my computer and they both do it and it annoys the hell out of me. None of my other games do that. And the Account Control shield takes up a quarter of the icon which kind of eliminates the need for having a sexy game icon. Is there anyway I can get rid of that? Why do Matrix games do that?

They are set to run as administrator and that is why the little window pops up. UAC can interfere with programs writing data back to the drive like save games and such or a game editor even entering serial numbers might not be saved. But, if run as administrator you will not have any issue with that. You may be able to set the properties to not run as admin but depending on where the game is installed it may not work as desired. I just leave them as they are. The game works great as installed so why mess it with it....my thought anyway. [:)]
