Turn 17, 10/9/1941

Last turn before mud. The Axis makes a few more attacks but mostly dig in. We pull 3 armies off the frontlines and place them in reserve.

Turn 18, 10/16/1941

Mud. No attacks at all. Cavalry reserves gather. Industry is still being railed out.

The current turn losses look very strange, but that's what the report says.

Turn 22, 11/13/1941, Snow

All quiet.

Hermann -> RE: Empire101 (Axis) vs sveint (Sov) - Soviet PoV (8/5/2011 3:14:07 AM)

Darn I wish I could find a laid back axis player =) everyone i meet up with keeps throwing tanks at me like confetti - great start Sveint

sveint -> RE: Empire101 (Axis) vs sveint (Sov) - Soviet PoV (8/5/2011 5:12:22 AM)

I have to defend Empire101, he hasn't done badly. It's just that I like playing defense and don't get surrounded easily. He could have pushed harder, but he didn't make any mistakes either. I think for him to rest now in snow is a wise move, and bad news for the Soviets.

Klydon -> RE: Empire101 (Axis) vs sveint (Sov) - Soviet PoV (8/5/2011 2:03:07 PM)

I think this is Empire's first run as a Axis against a human and he has done ok with that in mind. I am sure he won't be so "laid back" in his next game. [:)]

Hermann -> RE: Empire101 (Axis) vs sveint (Sov) - Soviet PoV (8/5/2011 4:10:54 PM)

wasnt being critical at all just teasing Sveint for the whooping he's been handing me. Im playing 3 games as soviet after playing as axis vs AI longest ive gone is the first blizzard turn. Learning on the hoof, Svient is a great player cant wait to see how he fares watching his defense here im sure its going to be a rough winter for me. Empire has been dishing out solid casualties so far.

sveint -> RE: Empire101 (Axis) vs sveint (Sov) - Soviet PoV (8/7/2011 12:52:24 PM)

Turn 25, 12/4/1941, Blizzard

Winter offensive begins with some success and some failures. The Germans are heavily dug in.

The newly formed Shock Cavalry Front is railed to a top secret destination

sveint -> RE: Empire101 (Axis) vs sveint (Sov) - Soviet PoV (8/7/2011 10:44:19 PM)

Turn 26, 12/11/1941, Blizzard

Leningrad and Nortwestern front abandon offensive operations. Other fronts continue to make minor progress. Operation "Yayla" is in full swing.

kirkgregerson -> RE: Empire101 (Axis) vs sveint (Sov) - Soviet PoV (8/9/2011 7:10:28 PM)

Nice, Shock Cavalry Front. Who is the general for it?

Q-Ball -> RE: Empire101 (Axis) vs sveint (Sov) - Soviet PoV (8/9/2011 7:55:50 PM)

I did sort of the same thing vs. Tarhunnas, though I didn't use a Shock Army HQ. Probably should have. I did hoard a bunch of cavalry, so that they were decent morale/experience when Blizzard hit, then formed up a Cav Army. They did very well, nearly all of them flipped to Guards by March.

Are you attaching Sappers and Tanks to your Cav Corps?

Looking at that map, I predict disaster for the Germans down there.

sveint -> RE: Empire101 (Axis) vs sveint (Sov) - Soviet PoV (8/9/2011 9:53:58 PM)

Timoshenko is in overall charge. Each army gets ample artillery and a sapper regiment. Each corps has a tank batallion.

sveint -> RE: Empire101 (Axis) vs sveint (Sov) - Soviet PoV (8/9/2011 10:25:58 PM)

Turn 27, 12/18/1941, Blizzard

Offensive continues.

sveint -> RE: Empire101 (Axis) vs sveint (Sov) - Soviet PoV (8/11/2011 11:55:33 PM)

Turn 28, 12/25/1941, Blizzard

Offensive continues over most of the front. Four cavalry shock armies are now mobilized (however the 3rd and especially the 4th consist mostly of raw recruits). The Crimea is still not evacuated.

Q-Ball -> RE: Empire101 (Axis) vs sveint (Sov) - Soviet PoV (8/12/2011 3:32:14 PM)

You mentioned you added a Tank Bn to each Cav Corps; I would add 1 or 2 Sappers as well. They are cheap and good.

Or, 1 Sapper and a 2nd Tank Unit, that's even better, though you may not have quite enough tanks for that at this moment. By March, you should have more than enough tanks.

Not that you need help, this looks very bad for the Axis. He needs to withdraw from the Crimea, or count on Sea Supply through Sevastopol.

Flaviusx -> RE: Empire101 (Axis) vs sveint (Sov) - Soviet PoV (8/12/2011 3:46:07 PM)

I played around with this shock cavalry army concept a while back, and concluded that it's probably not worth it in the long run. But it's definitely worth a few giggles in that first blizzard.

sveint -> RE: Empire101 (Axis) vs sveint (Sov) - Soviet PoV (8/13/2011 9:08:37 PM)

Turn 29, 1/1/1942, Blizzard

Still no German withdrawal from the Crimea.

kirkgregerson -> RE: Empire101 (Axis) vs sveint (Sov) - Soviet PoV (8/13/2011 10:16:04 PM)

Holy Cow, all those cavalry units... cool.  This is getting very ugly very fast for the axis...  [:(]
I'm thinking axis player didn't realize how hard he has to push in 41?  Case and point from this AAR.  But it's not easy being a newbie to WitE and playing axis.  I remember getting my ass kicked by normal AI when I started WitE, sad to admit.

sveint -> RE: Empire101 (Axis) vs sveint (Sov) - Soviet PoV (8/15/2011 10:35:07 PM)

Turn 30, 1/8/1942, Blizzard

Time is running out. We need to dig in on the river and dislodge the units in the cities to the north.

sveint -> RE: Empire101 (Axis) vs sveint (Sov) - Soviet PoV (9/2/2011 9:28:29 PM)

Turn 34, 2/5/1942, Blizzard

Offensive halted except for in the Crimea. The objective now is to retake Crimea before the Axis can mount any large scale counter-attack.
