brucesim2003 -> PC and UAC (7/19/2011 4:42:13 AM)

Every time I start PC with the game menu, the registry editing tool wants to change my UAC settings. Any reason for this...should I be concerned? Using Win7

Cheers

The game settings are saved to the registry so it is normal. However getting a UAC pop up is not - do you have an unusual configuration?

No unusual settings that I know of. UAC is set at 2nd from top (default?). When I start from the start menu, which brings up the ability to set resolutions, it says it should only show on the 1st run. However it shows each time, but I don't get the UAC prompt. The UAC prompt only appears when using the desktop icon (Matrix launcher?).

It sounds like the settings info is not saving out properly - this is the UAC pop up issue. As it cant write to the registry to it cant remember you ran it before so its defaulting to first run mode every time.

You could try right clicking on the shortcut to run as administrator.

Running as admin didn't fix the resolution launcher.

Can you let us know your full system specs and OS. I'm not sure there is anything we can do but it would be good to know in case anyone has the issue and we can try and see a pattern.

System specs:

C2D 2.9GHz CPU
4Gb ram
Nvidia 240 GPU
Win 7 32bit OS

If you could look further into the cause of the UAC pop-up, it would be appreciated.

Hi: same problem here.
We have 2 licenses, one in desktops asus PC and the other in acer laptop
Both run win7 64bits

Please provide a workaround for the UAC pop-up.

Thanks!!

We've not been able to track down what is causing this yet but it is not doing any harm so until we find out just ignore it. Sorry for the inconvenience.

I disabled my UAC so I could save the new units that are coming out, and after I have saved it in the Units folder, the units still are not showing up. Any help is appreciated.
