I am thinking the LYB's have too many fighters and my boys consider it a suicide mission ..that is the only thing I can think of that would lead to a cancelled mission wihtout any messages .. We turn loose every major group this turn. Ground bombing in Thailand to smack the RTA army in the open. Ground Bombing of Ponape preparing for an anticipated attack in 2 weeks. We also decide to hit the port at Lae. An invasion force of 2 USA divisions is a day's sail away from Port Moesby. I have a reserve force of 4 tank brdgs to follow on if things get dicey .. Our plan in NG is to simply bypass the Solomon's with the next target Gastmata. This will effectively isolate the Solomon's. Then SOPAC forces can clean up the islands at will. In three days we will have the survivors of the Port Moresby debacle back on the shores of Oz .. Ok a break for my birthday in Vegas .. more later as I rescue my AAR from page 2 [8D]

[;)] Well I hate to dissappoint but no penguins or debauchery ..[8D] The World Series of Poker is starting the main event this weekend . so I thought I would head into town and get some action ...I have not played Hold'em actually in two years and I thought it wold be fun for my birthday to break back in ... I did have a fantastic meal at the Kings Fish House in Henderson. With the big hotels charging outragious prices and "resort fees" I am staying with a friend in Henderson .. the restaurants down here have less fake french accents and flare, but I think the food has a much better value [;)] I woke up at 5am to turn my turn around .. but I am not sure I will have time to post results until tonight ..the second division (37th Division) lands at Port Moresby... Well my opponent [Jess Norris] and I have decided to conclude this match. Jess was expecting a game following a more historical context. That is the Allies invading the Solomon's then invading the Gilberts, proceeding into the Marians, Phillipines, etc. My plans did not include invading the Marians, but to invade Formosa and Korea. Despite my paying PP's for the forces that invaded Burma-- almost every turn included grumbling of the impossibility of invading Burma and further grumbling about my invasion of Thailand. Simply, it is not worth pursuing a game where someone is so unhappy. jess was obessed with a strict interpretation of history and my desire to execute a plan of what if's within what was feasible within a historical context. There was also the phenomenon of the player getting their butt kicked squaking the loudest [;)] Anyway at this point I beleive the diffferences in gameplay where irreconcilable. I want to think everybody that particiapted in this AAR!

Unfortunately you need to be in two to have fun in every game....and when one isn't not having fun anymore it's always difficult to go on! However i know how it feels when a game of this magnitude ends...you feel emptied... Take your time now...but don't put the game apart....stay around here and you'll soon want to shift to the evil side[8D]

I realize this is nothing like PBEM. However, the computer oppoent and random but fixed scripts is dependable, does not complain, and at least in China has presented a far more agressive line of attack. Maybe someday I will have the time to engage in another PBEM match up. The real problem is finding an opponent that will not game the system on one hand, but is not obessed with some sort of historical replay on the other hand. Ok .. I am lurking forums but will not be doing an AAR on my adventure vs. fixed scripts ..[:'(]
