I think it would be nice to have some sort of glossary in place for novice players, i.e. non-hardcore grognards. Most of the old CC playerbase know what is meant by "PzKpfw" or "PIAT" etc., but for new players with little knowledge of WWII warfare this is all a small mystery. I know it took me some time to learn and research all this data, Matrix could facilitate in this. After all, these are units used in the game, a player should be able to know its properties.
Maybe a "mouse-over" effect could be displayed when hovering the mouse over/right-clicking the unit during battlegroup selection, showing the units properties/strengths/weaknesses or something.
Also, maybe an overview page with all the team rank icons could be printed in the manual. Most CC players are interested in WWII, so an overview of rank icons would be good reference guide to military ranks. (not that hard to make I guess, since all the icons already present in the game, just label them).
