Fighters are nice but unless you intend to have 6 or more you can't cover your "normal" 3 axis of advance. The German mobile AA does a nice job of clipping the incoming so they are easy meat for fighters. But just which ones? how many of them? How many Luftwaffe. Currently (just into the low countries now) I have 2 Bf 109e's I FB 110D and 2 skd 71's (and a free 88 aux). This appears to be the minimum and NOT really enough if I want to win a decisive victory. I play on Col with all 3 options on. I'm sure Fog of War off would reduce the requirements of the force pool but I consider that a bit like cheating.

Any comments would be nice. [&:]

I would say you are light on fighters tbh. I like 5-6 fighter units, and I tend to actively hunt down any enemy air units by not advancing mine very far on the first impulse and then the second impulse I will attack enemy fighters within distance, chosing to kill one enemy unit over damaging two.
Also I will often set up a trap for enemy fighters. The way I do this, is by leaving a level or tactical bomber at the edge of the enemy visual screen (range two for enemy inf etc), and then place a fighter or two next to it in the shroud so that the enemy does not see it. That usually leads to the enemy flying up with a fighter to attack the bomber just to be attacked by my escorting fighter.

Ah yes, the old fighter trap from PG. It used to be even nicer when I had an 88 waiting for my turn :)

6 fighters would be about 1/3 of the entire core group for the Low countries.

Not sure if I could advance very fast with only 12 ground units.

For my third campaign I'm moving more and more away from a big fighter/bomber setup (which I heavily used in good old PG 2).
In my first campaign I had air supremacy within the first turns and after that my fighters were of much less use.

Second campaign I used less fighters and stuka's and more BF 100x fighter/bombers. I did not achieve air supremacy until midgame and as a result my own units took more damage. It did allow me to ignore most enemy AD and instead concentrate on the real objectives.

And now I'm using even less aircraft and so far I'm thinking of getting 2 fighters and 4 fighter/bombers total. It's not until the end game that I get a few AD units, only then I'm often in a defending position and can easily have my "soft" units around the AD unit.
I'm probably gonna need more AD units with such a small fighter force.

I must say though I'm a bit biased since I seem to have bad weather all the time: cloud, rain and snow seem to like me.

I didn't find any need for mobile AA during the low countries. The enemy only has one dedicated bomber. Just don't leave anyone in trucks or on a river on the northern advance. With three fighters and your 88 you should be able to burn out his airforce by turn 4 if the weather holds.

I would prefer 4 Fighters over the 8.8cm FlaK due to invasion maps (Sealion 40, 43, USA West, Crete in some mods), where the 8.8cm is fairly useless.
Also you need veteran Fighters to more easily destroy the advanced British Fighters, since both Hurricane Mk.2 and Spitfire Mk.2 have superior Air Attack/Air Defence, compared to BF109F/G.
