Perturabo -> WWI small battles and skirmishes? (8/26/2011 10:02:32 PM)

Does anyone know any?

I mean ones that would include forces smaller than a regiment (preferably smaller than a battalion) on both sides? Most of battles that I've heard of involved pretty big units.

If you plan to sim a fight, nothing is stopping you from handling a smaller subsection of a bigger battle.

Mons, for example. Or Chateau Thierry/Bois de Bellau. Vimy is another option.

German East Africa? Units still brigade sized (on the allied side), but a really interesting 'mess' and skilful use of limited resources by the German commander.

You might also want to look at the other sideshows - Gallipoli, Sennussi/Palestine, Afghanistan (1919), RCW (1919+), and other early war actions eg Tsingtao.
