Burma
Rangoon captured. Allies retreat from city before i have attack.
City is in mess. Damage are 17/77/66. 34 refineries damage but i will not repeir them for now. I need those supplies for my troops.

Tomorrow 200 Eng will arrive to city and will start repairs.

Main allied forces still marching north and now are one hex from Prome.
Tomorrow i will close Prome AF. I will be easy mission comparing to last three days bombings. Today i lost only one Ki21 from ops but 22 where damaged and i have now almost 20% of bombers in maintenance

China
Bombers attack Kukong making 39 damage to AF.
I will repeat raid tomorrow

Because of weather bombers stay on ground and do not attack Ichang.
Ground forces bombard enemy scoring mighty 54 killed enemy soldiers and disabling 7 squads.

Philippines
Mindanao is 100% in Japanise heand after capturing of Zamboanga.

Japanese forces on Panay capture Iloilo sending 800 enemy soldiers to other side of Styx. Remnants of enemy forces retreat to San Jose. Japan lost 9 soldiers.

Slowly sailing west to Soerobaja.
At lest 5 SS spotted in area one attack SAG protecting KB but no hits

Japanese Sub put torp in xAP north of Darwin. No sunk sound. No troops on board.

Burma (picture A)
Allies send 4E and 2E (total 100 planes) to bombard Taung Gyi. Losses minimal 64 soldiers and 5 squads disabled. I have 500AV there

In return Japanese planes attack targets in Meiktila killing 220 man, destroying 7 squads and disabling 32
Planes attack also Toungoo with no result but we slow down allied troops there and now i will attack them tomorrow. I have 1000AV there

200 Engineers in Rangoon will start repairing damages tomorrow. I have 1300AV marching north

Gilbert Islands (picture B)
Allied carriers spotted south of Tabiteuea. It is looking like 2 CV.
Again G3M2 fly but not found target.
I have huge penalties because AF is lvl 2 only (63% for lvl 3)
I think allies decided to raid Gilberts after KB was spotted in DEI.

KB2 from Truk will not make it to intercept(out of fuel for flank speed) so i will stay in Truk.
I have 27 G3Ms and 36 A6Ms on island. I will not CAP, all planes on Naval attack and escort with torpedoes as cargo. I hope they find targets if Enemy TF close more to island and maybe surprise enemy CAP
Question what attitude will be best to get truth enemy CAP?

MKB north-east of OZ found two convoys of British ships and attack closest one sinking 4 enemy ships (they transport fuel so burn like matches)
Recon still showing one ship in closes TF and 3 ships in second.
Tomorrow MKB will split on two making chance of capturing enemy ships bigger.

I south China I have 1100AV force vs 1600AV of Chinese in Kukong. 1 hex north of city i have 1500AV vs 600Av of Chinese. City is surrounded. All road are in mu hands.
I am bombarding City AF. Today some or all Chinese units start moving east from Kukong(target unknown)


Other staff

I have intel that BB Maryland sunk during Rabul landing operation. That making number of sunken BB to five. I have also 1 BC and 5 CA on sunk list.
One of them should be CA Huston but from 3 months I have Indianapolis on list.
I have also information that I have sunk 14 CLs, 22DD and 24 SS.

Against a CV TF with those numbers I would send them in low at 1000. You will hopefully catch his CAP out of position and get through without many fighters getting to engage. I wouldn't expect great results however.
Having planes searching for the TF to raise detection level is also key, ideally some floatplanes so you can reserve all your torpedo bombers for the strike.
As for the airfield being only level 2 you better go check and see if you can even use torp bombers from it.

I am anot decided yet. Probably I will retreat planes from Island. An will let Allies attack.
Let Docuop think i am not defending island when he came next time i will have many more planes and better AF

There are two reason of his visit.
1. He think that KB is in DEI
2. He spotted 2 turns back Cargo TF unloading more ENG units.

Probably I will retreat my planes becouse they will not use torps and without hem they are useles, and also there is small chance to hit anything if he has 2 or worst 3 CV in that TF. In second hand recon rapport showing 48 fighters and 40 bombers only so it can be only 1 CV.

EDIT
After three day break from game turn send.

Tabiteuea evacuated and now have only ground troops.
AF 2 is to small to use torps by level bombers. They need at lest lvl 4 to be 100% sure they will fly with torpedoes and do not heve any penalties, so few weeks and AF will be ready.

R&D and economy

As i am siting at work and my boss is on vacation[sm=00000280.gif], i have to many time i am decided to wright little.
This is from my memeory so number are only 99% accurate.

R&D
I only telling about closes future and what i am sure about.

A6M Zero line.
6x30(0) factories accelerating A6M3a and 5 more factories will join in 2 weeks.
Currently i have arrival date on 12/42 and 46% to next month.
Until may ends i will accelerate to 10/42 and in June 3 more months making A6M3a available in 7/42.
On 1 June i will upgrade all three A6M2 factories to A6M3 so when 3a arrive i will produce 90 plane per month.

Next plane will be A6M5 i will accelerate it to 1/43.

Next step is more complex should i focus on accelerating to M8 model or last model i should produce should be 5c. It all depends if i will have still KB or i will lost it in battle.
I my final target will be 5c i will be able to have it in 6/43 or earlier, if M8 on 11/43
In next step i will use those factories to R&D late war planes. Probably N1K, A7M, Ki-83 line

Ki-44 Tojo line
10x30 size factories. Currently three almost repaired. If i get lucky maybe i will accelerate IIa model to 8/42.
When they will be repaired i will focus on IIc model so it will be available in 4/43 or 3/43. I will also accelerate IIb to avoid factories reset during update.

After resarch is over some factories will start production and some will be upgraded to R&D late war planes. Prabably Ki-84, Ki-201

Ki-49 Helen line
Curently 4x30(0) factories working on it. i have avable date at 7/42 with 72% to next month, so in 10 days i will have it avvable in 6/42.
3 factories will produce bomber (one already building 30 planes of Ia model) and one probably will be converted to R&D different plane. I want to build 120 IIa per month. I will not accelerate IIb as it only give defence fire and for Jap side in will not make any difference.

I am also repairing Ha-34 factories. I will need 240 engines for Ki-49 only and in September Ki-44 arrive. Currently i am building 130 engines per day and 2 more are repaired daily. In 1 June two more factories will start building engine so in end of June i will produce 290 engines and in end of July 400.

Other Planes
I have also huge R&D program for N1K, Ki-84 and smalest program for Ki-67, D4Y, P1Y and B6N. I have resign fro Ki-61(Ki-100) line - i think Ki-44 will do as good as Ki-61 or better.

Economy
Currently I have 260k HI after paying for May pilots. I gaining 4300-4500HI per day.
In home islands i have 700k supplies and they grooving 3-6k per day.
Fuel is 300k lower than on 7 DEC but tanker are on move and i have currently 180k sailing to home. And more is loading in Singer
Resources are steady and holding numbers from 7 DEC
Only oil is drooping as i only transporting some oil from Sakhalin and Hokaido.

I have Shinano and Musashi halted and all SS halted to. All CV are accelerated(next will be Taiho in January). Merchant shipyard building only TKs, CVEs.

Armament and Vehicle factories building 200 units on day each.
Armament have 30k and vehicles are 10k in pool

In manual i have read that Burma Road is open when there is connection by road/rail between Rangoon and Tsuyung so capturing Rangoon should close it.
I am playing beta so Ledo should be no longer considered as part of burma road as it has no road connection to Burma.

Even i am owner of Ranggon I still have info that road is open? Whay?

I'm pretty sure that you need both per the manual (Rangoon and Ledo). Beta has no data change contained within it, so this is unchanged from the last official data patch ... 3? or 4? so long ago, I forget.

You'll need to go back into the beta thread, back to the "m" series updates where this was discussed (and there are 1 - 2 pages on just this).  IIRC, Ledo was accidently removed and then was added back in.  But, I could easily be mistaken myself on this.

I wish I could help you more, but I haven't gotten my game up to that point yet since this was changed.  So, I really don't know.

Ledo is removed as part Burma road. Before game was released there was plan about road connecting Ledo with Burma by road but it was newer done. And they forgot to change manual.

I still have information that road is open but i thing it is only wrong massage and not how it is in real.

I think i will ask Docup about that but i do not what to be snoopy about it as it is strategic information so i wait few more turns.

Burma

On 5 troops captured Toungoo destroying 2 of 3 units and killing 2000 allied troops (non combat units).
On 6 i won battle in hex north of Rangoon again destroying 2 of 3 units and killing 2000 allied troops (non combat units).
During air attack on those troops Docup set LCAP over them. First wave of my bombers arrive and was intercepted by 3 enemy fighters. I lost A6M to 3 Fumars. Few moment later 22 Ki-30 arrive unescorted and they was intercepted by almost 30 enemy fighters diverted to area. 18 bombers lost but lucky only 6 pilots KIA and 6 WIA

In north Burma troops are marching from Taung Gyi to Lashio.

I Main allied forces are now in Prome.
Sweeps ordered above Prome, Mandalay and Magwe.

Heaves attack Chiang Mai at nigh destroying 5 planes on ground

in few day i will need to enter open area so it is going be blody as allies have at lest 40 4E bombers in area.

DEI
After few days of resting i am ready to attack remnatns of Dutch troops on Java

I gathering troops in Soeraboja to take Ambon area.

For Ambon i have 2 ID as there is at lest 300AV behind forts.
For rest of main bases i have regimens size units.

KB1 is in Balikpapan refueling, surface fleet in Soerobaja waiting for orders.

MKB
After sunking 4 xAK last day i have split my forces in two on 5. they have enemy ships in range but weather hold plans from launch.
On 6. AC TF found two xAK and intercept them in surface battle (two times) I little disappointment about SAG commender as he was surprised by Cargo ships a he need so many time to intercept and sunk them.
If they ware combat ships i will lost probably my CVL.

China
I am giving more pression on Ichang troops in two days 500 more troops killed and 50+ squads disabled.
Docup now know that only thing he can do is retreat and last day he start to move his troops north to woods.

North of Kukong my troops attack two times enemy forces achieving 1:1 adds. Both sides reduced by 200AV each but more squads destroyed on china side.
Chinese Kukong forces moving west.

I have equal forces in area but i am moving 1500AV to support Kukon battle. I hope city will fall soon.

Bad day for tracer and my game installation.

I have try to install latest official patch but he crash and windows crash to.
In precess game installation was corrupted and a need to reinstall entire game.

Tracer was death to and I spend some time to make it running but in process i lost all data from 150 turns.

I cant also run Official patch installation because it crashes my windows every time. So until i reinstall system i am forced to use beta patch only.
As i reed they are this same file so no big problem

Hmmm, you are likely correct. However, if you are showing that the road is open, then it is. Pretty sure it is a direct indication (as opposed to a calculated result) that the model is allowing supply flow to China. And I remember from the discussion that there is more than one road comprising the Burma road, it is not just Rangoon. If it isn't Ledo, then there is another base. It is in the thread ... you will need to search through it though.

Bombers attack Lashio troops but bombing enemy in jungle hex is waste of ammo.

As day earlier 4E attack Taung Gui destroying 2 planes on ground

Dutch forces holding strong behind fort lvl 3. But they out of supplies now.

China
Many happens today.

Another raid against chines troops in Ichang, Another 400 troops and 60 squads disabled
Planes attaking hex nort of Kukong intercepted by CAP. We lose 1 Oscar to 4 P40E

Bombardment attacks to keep Chinese forces occupied near Tsiaotso base and in Kukong.
Small damages but at lest they do something.

North of Kukong my forces attack third time reducing defense again

BURMA
Fighters sweep above all major bases in range but found only empty air.
100 allied bombers spotted in Chittagong. I suspecting raid tomorrow. Probably night so few squadrons will fly night CAP and rest will CAP in day
Japanese bombers fly to to save AF

Allied ground forces from Rangoon are now in Prome. They are moveing nort into Burma territory not to Akyab.

JAVA
Another day of sieging Dutch troops in Malang. Fortification reduced do 2.

Indian Ocean
MKB again merged. On morning planes found 3 allied Cargo TFs. Planes attack and score hits to 5 xAK putting them on heavy fire.
Probably all sunk. One xAK survive untouched. I will send DD to find him.

So far i have sunk 11 cargo ships:
3x Dominion L class cargo
4x Euro M class cargo
4x Euro K class cargo

I still have ammo but fuel allowing me to sail no more than 25 hex south after that i will need to return north.
I think i will be able to stay in area for week.

CHINA
It is looking like allied are evacuating Kukong. Troops are moving west from city. I moving ID to Wuchow in case Chinese troops decide to make visit in City.
97 coordinated from 4 squadrons Oscars sweep Wuchang but find empty air. I thought that sweep will not coordinate?

West Coast
Japanese SS sunk unescored xAP near SF. First torpedo hit and after that they attack on surface from deck gun.
Troops on board confirmed.

South Pacific
Japanese SS sunk unescorted TK near Tahiti

HAWAII
TF with at lest 4 TKs sailing to Pearl. They are empty because sailing from Oz but tomorrow thy will need to slip between 8 Japanese subs.

We have upgraded to r9. I notice one thing. Do Burma road notification in Rangoon is gone.
Last turn i have information Burma road is open and now there is nothing .

In air quiet day every ware. No singe combat mission for both sides.

Burma
Troops are marching.
6 Australian ID spotted in northern Burma[&:](near Katha). I need to confirm that information. But it is not good intel. Also another 17k man (7 units) sooted in jungle near Katha.
It is going to be bloody.

Allied troops in Prome are marching in two different direction some into Burma some toward Akyab.

In 6 days monsoon season will start. I think it will be worst for allied side as they will be unable to supply troops in Burma by roads and rail.

I have 2 5lvl AF in area so they will not suffer from monsoon. Also Rangoon is building fast and will be ready in 10 days.

Java
I need rest mu troops before next attack for at lest week. They are so tired that have no energy to eat.

China
3 Japanese ID enter hex north of Ichang. There is 65k enemy troops most of them disrupted and disabled i will attack tomorrow.
I result will be promising i will attack again of not i will return to Ichang

Bombardment attack in Kukong.
Deliberate attack in hex north of Kukong.
I lost 109 squadrons(disabled) he lost 127 disabled and 17 destroyed.
Units tha was moving oaut of Kukong was small (1700 trops) rest stay in city.

For next few turn i will only bombard them to use supplies. i have 1200 AV one hex nort and they will aricve in 2 days to support. I also starting bombing campaign of Kukong AF.

All ships refueled and will now return to Ambon area. I have heavy radio signals from Timor and Ambon. I need to investigate that.

KB2
One of slow AO`s with fuel was hit by torpedo 1 hex from Truk. Damages are medium but fire is 87 and with 1000+ fuel in tanks he will not survive next day.

Eniwetok
[&:][&:]I try to unload troops(Wake CD) in island but after turn i have information in combat reporter that some troops cant be unloaded.
If i reload them to smaller ships i will be able to do that? Or i need naval support. Or i need only wait and they will unload but slowly?
Eniwetok is port 3 but i am using amphibious unload mode[&:][&:]

Thanks. I have double check and guns are unloading but very slow.

Last turn they unload 2x20cm and 4x8cm guns.
I still have 22 guns to unload (mostly 12cm)

Biggest guns have load cost of 176 so smaller ones should unload faster[:'(]

Combat-reporter info is little confusing. It sound like they will never unload.

I am starting Timor/Ambon operation.

Troops are loading on ships.
Troops will sail from Soerobaja with SAG and 4 CV support. In firs wave i will land in Waingapoe, Koepang, Lautem and Saumlaki. (in all those bases i have seen enemy movements. So far no reinforcement spotted)
Last target will depend of situation. If allies will send fleet i will probably deley inwasion to moment i will land in Ambon i there will be small resistance i will land in first wave.

When all targets will be secured i will land in Ambon with 2 ID. I want make it fast. Estimated enemy forces in Ambon ~200AV with unknown forts. Mine field present wit CD guns.

Have you given any thought to the late war fighters? The stars of the show are the '-83, shinden and the Karyu jet. Even a couple of small factories can advance them decently as they are so far away even if it will take a while to get the research factories repaired.

As i playing with PDU ON, my r&d factories currently focusing on 4 fighter models

Ki-44 Tojo
A6M Zero
N1K George
Ki-84 Frank

So i have abandon for now 45/46 year models
Later (middle `43) I planing to convert few Ki-44 and A6M R&D factories to research those models. Tojo will be ready in March and will free at lest 6 factories also A6M will be almost ready around June with at lest 6 more factories to covert.

I also thinking about A7M but it will depend if i will have or not KB :)

North of Ichang my troops attack enemy forces. But i forgot to change ops mode to defend and this is what i have:

Little about DEI fuel situation:

Sumatra
All oil centers repaired, i am repairing refineries. i two weeks i will be at 100% of production capability.

Palembang is almost empty of fuel(50k). I shipping out to Singer more than i am producing.
In Singer i have now 120k of fuel.
I thinking to start transporting oil.

Borneo
Miri still repairing. Currently 6k fuel and 64k oil in base.
Tarakan 6k fuel and 23k oil
Balikpapan 54k fuel and 128k oil. Some repair needed to refinery
I also planing to transport some oil to HI.
One tanker already is transporting oil from Miri to HK because P.Arthur is using more than Manchuria is producing

Java
Some oil centers and refineries need to repair.
6k fuel and 53k oil on island. I use fuel to HI and to refuel ships in Soerbaja so no shipping for now.

Hokaido
Fuel enough to sustain HI, Oil 6k and steady.

Bolea, Babo
On max stocking limit of fuel so no production from oil centers.
I will not send there tankers until Ambon is taken.

So far i lose two tankers and one oilier.
I hope i will open Singer-P. Arthur road but probably not until 3Q42 or 4q42 or newer.

It is going to be interesting turn.
I have ordered almost 150 Ki-21 bombers escorted with 100 fighters and 90 fighters on sweep to attack Chittagong AF. Base is 9/10 DL and reckon is showing 108 enemy bombers and only 8 fighters from at lest 3 days. As what i see all allied fighters in Burma probably lcap Prome from Akyab or protecting Mandalay.


Second Big AF attack ordered in China 120 bombers escorted by 50 fighters and 40 on sweep will attack Changsha AF. ~50 enemy fighters there but they not CAPing. Probably[&:]

Two day summary
11-12 May 42

Burma
Because of bad weather planes stay on ground on 11.
12 May they fly[:'(]

Coordination was perfect. In firs wave 73 Oscars sweep Chittagong finding empty air.
Few moments later 124 Ki-21 escorted by 54 Oscars arrive and attack AF
Rapport saying:
B-26 Marauder: 4 destroyed, 22 damaged
Wellington Ic: 2 destroyed, 13 damaged
Blenheim IV: 8 destroyed, 36 damaged
C-47 Skytrain: 1 destroyed


I pay for it with 2 Ki-21 and two pilots lives. Result should be better but bombers fly with reduced bomb load as it was max range.

3 IDs with 6 art units arrive to Prome. Enemy still in hex. Deliberate attack ordered.
200 fighters will cover air over Prome. I am expecting heaves raid as Prome is open hex.

Ki-21 retreated to back area.

Indian Ocean
MKB stay in position to save fuel. Radio silence ordered. We will wait until allied cargo ships will feel save again.[sm=00000619.gif]

Timor
KB1 4 hexes of Timor covering invasion. First landings tomorrow. PT sooted Timor ports. Many rapports from B5N bombers about hits to those PT. tomorrow 3xDD will sweep sea in Koepang.

Truk
KB2 refueled and today will sail north. Plan is to refuel in HI next raid Aleutian Island and after action return with CV to HI and start refitting them.(Radar upgrade)

If i know allied Intel he already know that i preparing for Adak, so maybe i will found there some naval forces. This fast raid maybe also will make him think that Adak. preparations are fake

Home island
i am lack of patrols and from last few turns I am have many rapports about oil slicks, shadows in water in area between Tokio, Hokkaido and in Kuriles but i cat mark position of them on map i need to find solution to finding those ships
I have also subs attacks around Hokkaido and at lest one sub in Kuriles

I send my Patrol Planes to Hokkaido to naval search area around island and to patrol Kuriles. I am sending also few PB to Kuriles.

I will sit in weekend ad rebase my FP and patrols to cover as much area as passable with ASW ans NSerch misions but for now i will use G3Ms squadrons from Yokohama to patrol area around central Japan. As they are training squadrons and i want them to train torpedo attack i will use naval attack order with 20 search and 80% train


China
I am bombing Chines AFs. Best target is Nanyang. AF is level 1 only. 120k troops in city so also many supplies it city and that make effectiveness in destroying supplies higher.

Kukong souranded. More chinas troops is leaving city to west.
1200AV Japanese forces are marching across woods to close last retreat road from City
1000AV is marching to city to reinforce Troops there.

Sub actions
6 sub actions on 11.
Allies lost 3 xAKL and xAP. I have lost xAP near HI

R&D
A6M3a advance to 11/42
Ki-49IIa advance to 6/42 (in 20 days i will produce 90/moth and when i will have more engines 120)

DOCUP just make classic Doolittle raid. and sunk 7xAK
CV Hornet 100nm east of Ominato

Carrier battle near Tiomr.
British carrier out of range to attack. Kates out of range to use torps.
I have sunk 2 US destroyers and score 9x250kg hits to CV Formidable.
No information about damage or fires
All hists are to fly deck but i have massage

"Carrier support unable to supply air cover.."

More detail later in need drink it is my firs carrier battle

Docup emailed my that he was thinking about hitting Tokyo, but in last he decided to attack TFs around Hokkaido.

I wish he attack Tokyo as port was empty with few TB only

You need to increase your naval search. With more planes and better pilots, these spotting will resolve into sub spottings. This will increase the sub DL and then allow you to attack with your surface ASW forces. Takes a bit to get everyone experienced enough. And takes a LOT of air groups flying NavSearch. I typically put the float plane groups to this purpose. Jakes have good range and you have a lot of groups.
