Panama -> How Many Use BMP over PNG? (9/14/2011 11:59:53 PM)

How many people are using the BMP graphics files in game instead of the PNG graphics files?

It would be a good thing to know since some scenario designers make graphics especially for their scenario. Difficult enough having to edit one format. [;)]

BMP - and the original ACOW bmps at that. Just gotta bite the bullet and edit them both.

Note that I included an article in 3.4 about how to re-colorize the png units.

Surely BMP - my staffs are very fond of it and they become mutinous once the PNG ones in sight and that affect any epoch, theater and force; they're old school hard core tradition followers or something ...

Although I don't use it, there is one thing I like about the .png graphics: It has a dedicated Huge View. The counters, in particular, look sensational in that. The map tiles just aren't there yet, though. Too many are too hard to distinguish from each other.

My own reaction when I opened things up after the patch was that my hills, etc seemed to be floating in a green sea. I suppose I could have got used to it -- but why?

I d like to try TOAW III to see how graphics work in PNG but after reading this thread, I guess I d prefer the BMP version like in my old ACOW version. With my graphic mod, of course.
I m fan of pixels and old school graphics [:)]
By the way, I am very curious to see the Curtis graphics at work instead of see them only by posted screenshots.
I think I ll give a chance to the new version of TOAW, but this game become very expensive for me as I bought all the precedent version as soon as they was released....

I don't know what "mod" you're talking about. Can you reference a specific post #?

When designing scenarios however, I'll make the graphic mods for both.
