Is there a list that shows shipyard repair capacity (ton's). I would like to know where to send ship's damaged to the nearest & capactiy without checking each base one at a time.

Go to your intelligence report, then select Industry/Resource Availability. Filter out everything except Repair Shipyards and you're all set.

Furthermore, each point of a shipyard is 1000 ton. So a size 10 repair yard can handle 10,000 tons of ship.

Great. Thanks.

Beware the starts of months that trigger upgrades of many ships.

Your shipyard that was working efficiently will suddenly be over capacity when all the upgrading ships automatically get put in the shipyard.

Most of the time they don't need to be in the shipyard for the upgrade and can be immediately moved to pierside getting your shipyard back out of the red and working efficiently again.

Not sure why the game engine is set to default upgrading ships into the shipyard when thier upgrades can be handled pierside, but that's the way it's structured.

To avoid auto upgradaes you either at the start choose auto ship upgrades to OFF, or you can go into your ship register and turn off all upgrades. Tracker is very Helpful too. You can quickly identify ships to upgrade in the ensuing month and decide if to turn that off. Its something you should religiously do at least once a month.

Thanks for the info, but I wasn't referring to a situation invoked because I forgot to turn off automatic upgrades. Sometimes I choose to be ready to upgrade a large number of ships (6-8) at the start of a given upgrade trigger month.

At ports like Pearl which has most of it's shipyardf capacity allocated to repairing heavily damaged ships, the sudden influx of upgraders throws the shipyard into the red. I wish ships that can upgrade pierside would do do automatically instead of defaulting to the shipyard, but that's not the case.

I was just trying to give a heads up in case people weren't aware that they can immediately move upgrading ships defaulted to the shipyard to pierside to alleviate the shipyard overcrowding. [:)]

Yes you can move the ships pierside. What is maddening, is that you can't accelerate an upgrade. "Critical" means nothing... is this pier run by a union or what?
