post #58,59,60 have some good points. Here is my thoughts:
1. I just want to try it.

2. By turn 13, all Arm Factories are gone. My opponent retreat far beyond my reach in the South. The battle in front of Moscow really favored the russians. The loss ratio was like 1:1.5 ~ 1:2. I can't pocket more units by that time.

3. It's true that I can put a whole army in fatherland. But that's still limit my attack to one area in 1942. For the russians, they can concentrate their carpet in one area to respond to the German attack.

4. The Reds runs really fast. If I stay in russian and can't pocket his army in the summer of 1942, the iniative will shift to him when onmap artillery show up.

Turn 37, Feb.26, 1942.

I cheated a little bit. There is no blizzard effect at the end of this turn.

So I surprised the red army on turn 38, March 5.

You definitely should. Seems quite some people would love to watch it.

From the jump maps it looks like its going to take some time before you make contact in the center and the south. And there is still his supply grid that has to catch up.
As I asked before: what's your intentions right now? Waiting ? Going back east ?

Yes, I'm going east again.
My next move will depend on my opponent. If he stands and fights, I will pocket his army. If he run away, then I will be happy to capture some manpower centers. I won't wait for him to attack me, definitely.

My main intention right now is just corner partisans and destroy them.

Karri -> RE: The struggle against Armament factories II (11/11/2011 10:29:46 AM)

Any updates? Screens of whole front?

veji1 -> RE: The struggle against Armament factories II (11/11/2011 10:53:46 AM)

I find this whole experiment fascinating, and quite interesting. Of course by going for the "extremest" course in Von Robin, it is bound to be less than optimal against any potentially prepared opponent. But it might make people think about quite extreme strategies nevertheless. Could a Germand player voluntarily retreat progressively almost all the way to the land bridge and the Dnepr. Obviously not behind any of those, the goal being to have "tetes de ponts" for the spring offensive.

With such a defensive strategy, could the German player say put to rest in Germany and cities far back all Panzer armies and 2 full infantry armies ? I wonder how efficient such a strategy would be ? It of course would mean that the German plyer needs a mega massive offensive success in 42, but might be worth a try...

Here is a screen shot of the whole front.

It's turn 39, march 12

stone10 -> RE: The struggle against Armament factories II (11/11/2011 6:29:32 PM)

I forgot to take screen shot on turn 40. My opponent did not run away so I pocket 5 divisions around Novgorod.

Balou -> RE: The struggle against Armament factories II (11/12/2011 1:07:40 PM)

What`s the morale level of german divisions ? Just curious, because most of them probably haven't been engaged for months.

Balou -> RE: The struggle against Armament factories II (11/29/2011 10:16:23 AM)

Has game stopped ?

I was very busy for the last month, so I just played my turn and sent the turn to my opponent. So there's no screen shots. Maybe I can try to find the turns my opponent sent to me in my mailbox and post some screenshots at the beginning of the turns.

Here is what happen in general:
1.I pocketed some russians(not a lot)
2.I moved all units to the front.
3.I took crimea in the last turn I played. However, I did not leave any garrison in Sevastopol and the Soviets may took it back with Amphibious Assault.

Now it is turn 47 May 7 1942. I sent my turn to my opponent nine days ago and I haven't hear from him since then. I think he is busy but I'll try to send him another email to find out what happened Tuesday.

PS: The German infantry are in great shape. Most of the infantry divisions I started with were in the 80s and 90s.

Honestly, I want to take a break from this forum for the last month. Everytime when I view this forum I see Pelton's "Russian pigs""Russian girls" thing. And people like to reply his post so that more people can see it.

I don't like the Russians, too. But let's face the truth:1) During the war, the Germans weren't better than the Russians morally. 2) it's a game. I have no idea why some people take this game so serious. It seems that killing Russians in this game is the only way to save the world for someone.
Moreover, when we say we don't like a particular large group of people, we're probably merely hastily generalize something... If one doesn't like Russians and doesn't want to change one's mind, there's no problem. But is it necessary to express one's feeling in such an uncivilized way that nobody can view the forum?

Anyways, I'll try to post some screenshots ASAP.
