I have developed MS Excel 2010 tool for parsing submarine combat records data from combat and operational reports.

It is macro enabled spreadsheet that automatically process submarine combat reports and create reports like this:

I'd like to share it/upload it, but i don't know how.
Please can somebody give me hint, how i can upload file to this forum? [&:]

Nice work... it's the same process by which you uploaded the picture. But you should rename the xls file extension to .txt.

If it's bigger that 500KB you'll need to put it in the tech section where there are more options including zip iirc

Thanks Damian.

It has 582kB ziped...

May be i can upload it somewhere to public file-sharing service (rapidshare or something like that)and post here just link.

The tech section allows larger files too ..[edit] sorry thought I mentioned that. Otherwise I'll host it on my googlesite if you want. http://sites.google.com/site/n01487477/Home

The OP sent the file to me and is going to upload it on this forum later.

I've uploaded it on my site for the time being, but as I don't have xls 2010, I couldn't get it working.

I'll remove it later after he posts it here...Looks like good work from the code I read

Cheers

Awesome, this is a nice gimmick to check out the subs. For a while tried to do this by hand, for fun, but ufff. A cool thing. Thanks!

seille -> RE: Excel Tool - Submarine Reporter (10/8/2011 10:59:39 AM)

I get only error messages it doesn´t matter what i do.

Would be nice to have a short guide.
For example: Which files do i have to put into the temp import folder ?

I would imagine none. Do you have a temp folder set up?

seille -> RE: Excel Tool - Submarine Reporter (10/8/2011 11:19:55 AM)

I tried to use that temp folder. I also adjusted the game folder.
Copied all combat and operational reports into the temp folder.

"File not found"

Maybe the conversion to office 2000 doesn´t work, no idea.
However, it would be cool to have a few infos how to set it up.

As I said before I couldn't get it working in xls 2002 - it wouldn't convert properly. You need a recent version of office to run this I think. I don;t think you need to copy any files just make sure the configuration is correct in the first worksheet. And have a temp folder set.

seille -> RE: Excel Tool - Submarine Reporter (10/8/2011 11:29:04 AM)

Too bad. Would be a helpful tool.

felix83 -> RE: Excel Tool - Submarine Reporter (10/8/2011 12:24:15 PM)

too sad indeed, I encouter the same problems, due to old excel 2000. Tried to convert it to 2000 but no luck. [:(]

I'm back online. Just give me some time, I'll upload it in Tech Support part of this forum.
(with short config guide...)

I have tested SubReporter strictly on 2010 version of Excel. I think Office 2000 is too old for it...

cantona2 -> RE: Excel Tool - Submarine Reporter (10/8/2011 1:00:02 PM)

This looks great. It opens fine and I enable macros in Office 2007 however I cannot import database as it says there is a file missing in the scen folder. Looking forward to the config guide once its up. Great work

rcm1616 -> RE: Excel Tool - Submarine Reporter (10/8/2011 2:13:22 PM)

I have set new Submarine Reporter tread in Tech Support section.

Please all comments and questions there...

Grimasa.
