Not sure if this was posted before, but infantry cannot sneak past the first stream on Valkenswaard map. Only standing up they can get across. They just keep crawling back and forth parallel to the riverbed otherwise. Hurts mainly the AI of course.

I've seen this as well, first turn, day one, but whilst playing H2. Had my Allied opponent cursing bad as his infantry milled around aimlessly and his Shermans brewed up at regular intervals.

RD Oddball -> RE: stuck on valkenswaard (10/14/2011 4:46:25 PM)

I just had a look at the data files for that element that you say the prone troops are stopping at and "Bank" doesn't appear to have any values that are out of line. I've not experienced what you're seeing myself so if you can suggest a way to replicate this we'll look into it. I'm not sure exactly what you're doing so more detail will help if there's any to give. I'll mention it to our developer to see what else he'll need to know if anything. Thanks.

*EDIT* Our developer indicated that they should be switching to a different stance when crossing shallow water which is causing the problem. Shallow water is deep enough that you cannot cross it in a prone position. It's entered as a bug and will be fixed at the next opportunity we get. Thanks for your report.

Andrew Williams -> RE: stuck on valkenswaard (10/15/2011 10:06:19 AM)

Steve changed the coding so inf wouldn't swim on LSA shallow water sections of rivers

Should have recoded the map instead as it was a better "fix"

really this is a case of fugging with the exe when just proper map coding was all that was needed.... more time could have been spent on exe fixes that are really needed.
