Rake -> Autosave AP's question (10/16/2011 5:40:24 PM)

Been playing CS from the early days of EF, EFII, WF, etc., but have come across something I haven't noticed before.

I've just begun Turn 2 of Tightening the Noose at Izyum against the AI. I've rarely used the Autosave AP's for firing order before. I turned it on for the last few units at the end of Turn 1 to move a few mortar units as close as possible and still be able to fire. AT the end of the turn, I ran the Russian turn, proceeded through the German artillery phase, saved the game and quit.

When I restarted this AM, the Autosave command was still in effect. As a result, I have not been able to move units any further than the Save AP's will allow even though I turned it off when I resumed the game.

If this command is on at the start of a turn, does it preclude moving all units any farther for the entire turn?

I've tried to attach a pic, but the site keeps telling me that the file is too large. The picture is 494kb. What's the max size the site will allow?

Are you PBEM or playing against HAL?

Jason, I'm playing the AI, so I presume I'm playing Hal. Would that even make a difference?

Oh, one other thing I've noticed (haven't played JTCS in a while) is that trucks )and infantry, too) are spending their entire allotment of movement points running back and forth between the same two hexes. Beyond possibly trying to draw op fire, what's up with that?

Thanks in advance.

Mike

No, it shouldn't make a difference, but it will help me replicate the issue you are having.

You've noted an old issue of HAL (a 2001: A Space Odessy reference), where it will move leaders and empty trucks for no apparent reason other than to spend Action Points.

I have asked the programmer to look into this to no prevail, yet.
