Karsten -> Wide Screen Support not working (11/18/2011 9:43:26 PM)

I am trying to run WitP-AE on a Win7 64 system with a screen of 1920*1050
i am using the latest patch 1.01.06i

i tired various combinations of either
-f -px1920 –py1200
-w –px1680 –py1050

and other values but the games always remains in the 1024*768 resolution.

the command line parameters seem to have no effect at all.

my last try:
"C:\Users\Karsten\Games\WitP-Admiral\War in the Pacific Admiral Edition.exe" -SingleCpuOrders –multiaudio –dd_sw -ww –px1680 –py1000 -skipVideo

it starts windowed but ignores the -px and -py parameters

Are there any know issues running the game on a Geforce GTX 560M? I had no issues with the -px -py parameters on my old pc.

karsten

Erkki -> RE: Wide Screen Support not working (11/18/2011 9:56:11 PM)

Works perfectly to me. In the shortcut: "X:\...Pacific Admiral Edition.exe" -px1680 -py1050

Check that you didn't copy the hyphens (-) from PDF (since those are not hyphens there, but actually typed them.

I assume that the resolution is support by window's driver for the screen.

Karsten -> RE: Wide Screen Support not working (11/19/2011 5:12:13 AM)

I made sure the resolutions were supported.
As i said on my old computer it worked.

Not sure if it is exactly the same problem but the suggestions on this thread helped me.

I mean, that the problem is long dash symbol (–). Try use this -f -px1920 -py1200

Yep, quite common thing that causes this "malfunction".

Karsten -> RE: Wide Screen Support not working (11/19/2011 10:31:04 PM)

For some unknown reason WitP-AE does not accept the native resolution of my display 1920*1050. the only resolution i managed to get working is 1600*1024
it wasnt a long (–)

Reg -> RE: Wide Screen Support not working (11/19/2011 11:02:46 PM)

Probably because the standard video resolution is 1920 x 1080....

Try that setting and it will most likely work!! [:)]

(Don't feel bad, I missed that in the first line of your post as did everyone else...)

Toro12 -> RE: Wide Screen Support not working (11/21/2011 1:03:39 AM)

No, that resolution doesn't work, either. I'm having the same issue, and have tried the same variations (as well as the other thread link provided, above), all to no avail. Same OS and graphic card as karsten.

any other ideas?

First, look at what Sardaukar wrote above - you must re-type the dashes rather than copy them from the documentation. In the doc they look like dashes but are actually another ASCII character.

Second, if all else fails try formatting the resolutions specs like this:
quote:

-pxf1440 -pyf0827

Obviously make the numbers be whatever you want, but notice the 'f' that is in there now. It might not work for your PC, or if it does, it might mess up something else in the graphics.

Toro12 -> RE: Wide Screen Support not working (11/21/2011 3:08:25 AM)

Thanks, witpqs, but adding the "f" doesn't work, either. Also, I'm typing the code directly into the properties window, not copying from a file, so the ASCII isn't the dash issue. Very frustrating that WITPAE works on my old computer, but not on my new one.

witpqs -> RE: Wide Screen Support not working (11/21/2011 3:51:38 AM)

the only thing that I can think of is that maybe the resolution you are trying is not supported by either your graphics card or your monitor. When you right-click on your desktop and call up Properties, then Settings, what resolution is Windows running at? (I gave the instruction for XP, don't know if it's the same key sequence for Windows 7.

Reg -> RE: Wide Screen Support not working (11/21/2011 7:11:36 AM)

This is the shortcut that works for me in its entirety:

"C:\Matrix Games\WITP-AE\War in the Pacific Admiral Edition.exe" -wd -altFont -px1920 -py1080

You might like trying a cut and paste of the above (just adjust for the location of your executable program). Also remove the -wd if you don't want it in a window.

Toro12 -> RE: Wide Screen Support not working (11/24/2011 1:42:36 AM)

Just thought I'd pass on, but none of these have worked, so this issue is still active from my perspective.

Karsten, have you got it working?
