john dobbins -> new map symbols (11/21/2011 5:00:41 PM)

I recently upgraded my version of WITPAE. Can anyone tell me what the yellow and red exclamation points on bases hexes mean, and also the yellow crossed sword symbol?

Yellow is the base is less than half 2x needed supply I believe, red is base is less than 1x needed supply and crossed swords means there was a land battle at that base the previous turn

Red exclamation can also mean there was partisan attack (not enough assault points to meet garrison requirements).

No matter what, it's not good news...

Also, I never did know what the ops column on the task force displays meant. Anyone?

Each ship has a number of ops points (1000 I believe) that reflect what that ship can do in a 12 hour period of time. Anything above 0 reflects a percentage ([ops]/1000) reduction of movement for that 12 hour period.

From page 5 of the Interface Addendum PDF that is in the Manuals folder of your WitP-AE installation:

"6.0 New Map Icons - New map icons flag certain events that happened during the last turn. These appear
to one side or the other of the flag, dot, or in the center of the hex (in non-base hexes).

6.1 Crossed swords - This indicates ground combat in this hex during the last turn.

6.2 Yellow Exclamation Point - This will appear when a base is below 2X needed supply, but above
the bare minimum supply needed.

6.3 Red Exclamation Point - The base either had a partisan attack due to low garrison, or the supply
level is below the required level and is reaching a critical situation."
