Negative....The two mini scenarios use their own much smaller map. When I go to adjusting scenarios for the new patch I am going to change the unit effectiveness values back to much more historical settings.I changed them trying to make the scenarios more balanced but I think it was a mistake.

Hello Bletchley....I should have mentioned that the Toul Bridgehead and Pont a Mousson scenarios each have their own map also. They are smaller maps cropped from the V 3.0 Nancy map and are included with the scenario files. Merry Christmas to all [:'(]

B_G------------I am a little uncertain re the community scenarios listed and their current compatibility with the latest patch v.2248 .
Are all of these currently listed compatible with 2248 ?-- but if not would it be possible to identify in some way those that are and those that are not.
Many thanks for any clarification on this.

Hey,

I haven't found problems as in BftB crashing or error messages popping up in any scenario I have tried. And I have tried all of them but Merdjayoun and Woenschedt Isthmus. The only issue is a graphical glitch (?) with the bocage textures in St Lo.

Other than that, I don't recall any change that would cause unstability. However, a different issue is whether latest changes have preserved the gameplay the scenario designers originally envisioned.

In any case, you're my guest to try the scenarios and let us know over here if you find some problem with them ;)

pcelt -> RE: BftB Community Scenarios Index (Stabilising X11 Corps) (1/5/2012 8:58:49 PM)

Thanks --happy that there seem to be no obvious technical problems --but there is a difficulty ( having not played through many of the battles prior to the current patch) in determining whether they are playing out now in the manner initially intended by the designer in times of yore. I guess only the designers can really evaluate this.
In any event ,in my case, it would probably be far more likely that any strange or unlikely battle outcomes ( especially adverse ones ) result from some bizarre tactical play on my part rather than by a gameplay change brought about by the recent patch.

The last change to estabs, where Battalion AT platoons were factored into companies might indeed. You'll have those US Army Infantry Battalions sporting twice as many 57mm AT Guns, for instance.

Fishbreath -> RE: BftB Community Scenarios Index (Stabilising X11 Corps) (2/2/2012 2:55:34 PM)

So there's the HttR mini-expansion that just came out. Is there anything similar expected for CotA scenarios?

wodin -> RE: BftB Community Scenarios Index (Stabilising X11 Corps) (2/2/2012 8:20:46 PM)

I don't think so. The feature changes between BftB and CotA aren't really huge I suppose so the difference might not be worth it. It's a shame though that CotaA doesn't get a tailored patch to bring it up to the level of BftB with regards to tweaks o the code. I'm thinking on the units leading attacks and defending units easily made to retreat etc which is far improved in BftB than CotA.

I have a soft spot for CotA even though the theatre didn't and still doesn't interest me lads I loved the size of the scenarios in the game and I also loved para dropping into Crete.. I'd say scenario wise it is my favourite. HTTR covers my favourite battle out of the three and BftB has the best engine.

Isn't HTTR=BftB? At least as far as gameplay goes, that is.

Lieste -> RE: BftB Community Scenarios Index (Stabilising X11 Corps) (5/9/2012 6:11:33 PM)

Now... yes, because HTTR(2) is available on the CmdOps Engine, but the original release order was:

AA:Red Devils Over Arnhem
AA:Highway To The Reich
AA:Conquest Of The Aegean
CmdOps:Battles From The Bulge
CmdOps:Highway To The Reich (expansion pack to BfTB)

And COTA includes aspects that the original HTTR couldn't simulate, and BfTB does some things that COTA couldn't. Future builds will be on the CmdOps engine, so play-(re)balance issues aside the new features should from now on carry forward as they are updated in the engine, and can be added to the scenario if new/revised units are needed.

Narciso -> RE: BftB Community Scenarios Index (Stabilising X11 Corps) (7/22/2014 8:41:47 PM)

I have installed the latest patch(46279)and now It seems like the custom scenarios (St Lo, etc...) are not compatible with the new version of the game. Any solution? Thanks in advance.

Narciso -> RE: BftB Community Scenarios Index (Stabilising X11 Corps) (7/22/2014 9:00:36 PM)

Solved![:)]

Bobbybat -> RE: BftB Community Scenarios Index (Stabilising X11 Corps) (7/24/2014 5:18:17 AM)

How Narcisco? Opening and re-saving in Mapmaker?

Phoenix100 -> RE: BftB Community Scenarios Index (Stabilising X11 Corps) (7/24/2014 8:33:47 AM)

I was going to suggest - as I have in other threads - that the old scenarios could be made to work by converting their maps in mapmaker. This has always worked for me. Just open and save over in mapmaker. For a big map it takes time, but once done it's done. I also re-draw the chache and save in mapmaker, though I don't know if this actually serves any useful porpoise....
