Blueberry -> RE: another weapon mod... (12/17/2011 10:56:59 PM)

Was just curious whether the new weapon effects affected anyone's gameplay (not mine so far). Game just doesn't feel totally smooth as it is. My pc handles the game quite nicely though. Amd Phenom II 965 x4 @ 3.7 Ghz, 8 Gb. By the way, I always turn off my antivirus (and the net) before some gaming. Had an old rig before this one.... old habits sure die hard. On the other hand, about to get a decent laptop. Vanilla weapon effects aren't exactly uber cool and always wondered whether those have been kept for legends to keep stable performance during heavy fights. Have you tested the very same heavy battle with the original and then your new weapon effects?

The only slow down I see is when I speed the game past 1x, and the weapons miss for some reason. sorta like a slow ping on multi-players game. slowing to 1x corrects the problem.

Or if there is 100's of fighters it will lag. A exp would be like the aar with 265 fighters. (

2. If you are experiencing slow performance:

First, update your video and audio drivers and make sure they are at their default settings. See if that resolves the issue.

Second, turn off any background programs (such as anti-virus or security software that may be using up CPU or trying to scan the game files while it plays)

Third, go into the Options menu and do this: Star density: set this to the far left, minimum

Now go into the Advanced Settings: Maximum framerate: Uncheck Unlimited box Set to 25, even 20 for now if need be Uncheck Display nebulae clouds in systems System nebulae detail = Low

Try that and see if it helps. If it does, you can increase these slowly to find what works for your system. I would start with increasing the Maximum framerate first, as that will greatly help your screen choppiness. Increase it by maybe 2 at a time.

Another suggestion:

Try these settings, Turn off nebulae clouds, Star density all the way left, zoom speed all the way right.

msnevil - which file(s) are we supposed to use? There are quite a few uploads through this thread. Thanks!
