Quantum Reactors? (Full Version)

Quick question:

When I researched Quantum Reactors I was informed that I unlocked the new Quantum Reactor component. However, when I went to the design screen, all I saw was the old Fission Reactor. Is this a bug or am I missing something? Funny, I can't recall how it worked in RotS. How quickly you forget. [:)]

Take a look around at all components it may not be on the recent components list.

IIRC sometimes you have to do this.

No the Design screen only show you at first the "best" components not allways the newest.
You need to disable "only show the latest comp." checkbox above the component list to see ALL components.

Ah, okay.  I figured the best and the newest would be the same, so never thought to uncheck that. [:)] Thanks, guys!

I am confused. The Quantum is way better than the Fission. So maybe something weird happened there. I goof around with Ship Design always. I have not seen anything go wrong in the component area yet. If that happens again, can you let us know?

The component list was strange for me today. I researched titan beam, and had to expand to show all tech to see it. I had the max shatterforce tech after getting it as a bonus, but titan was at least comparable.

Also when researching the final shield (Meridian?) it was also "hidden" with the two preceding techs available. The new one was the perfect merger tech. It could be the same mess with reactors.

Sure thing. I thought it was strange too that a new tech wasn't deemed worthy of the best components list. I just started a new game so I'll see if it happens again. Based on what Bingeling posted, it could be a bug.

Following up: in my second game, when I researched quantum reactors, they showed up in the new components list.  The first time might have been a glitch, I suppose.
