Erik, you said in some post...I can't remember where....that if you did not want your leader to change you can simply change a setting in a file...where is that file and setting?

Manzikert -> RE: I don't want my leader to change..where is that setting? (11/28/2011 3:12:56 AM)

You could try a different government type?  I know with some of them I had no leader change.

Play Gizureans. Not only will your leader never change, but you are almost garunteed to have incredibly awesome bonuses from said leader. Only downside is, if you lose the queen she's gone for ever!

My human empire now has a Kladavian (sp?) as ruler. Led a dang revolt but has awesome stats. Just seems wrong and hat to dismiss him.

Hello Sim;

In your DW directory, go to the 'races' directory. Find your race's text file. Using a text
editor like notepad, open the file and find this line:

CharacterRandomAppearanceChanceLeader ;1.2 <---- Change whatever this number is to 0.0

That's it! Hope this helps! [:)]

Yeah I hate having aliens freaks take over in a coup. Recently had a securan colony governor take over my Military Dictatorship in a coup. I imagined the securan witch's execution as I pushed the "dismiss" button.

Governors of an alien race can take over your leader in a coup?! That was new to me. Live and learn in DW: Legends. [:)]
Seems like my "isolationists" politics of not accepting alien races on my important worlds or in position of governors is actually quite a wise thing to do.

I have had two leaders replaced in my republic.

I also got a Dinosaur Troop Leader even though I'm Human.

I guess it's cos they have emigrated to my planets!

Yeah I don't mind generals and such, but be wary of the Governors the most I think. Not sure, but seems like having a colony governor on your Homeplanet increases likelihood of having them try to coup the govt.

Democracy changes leader quite often, but since I turned to way of ancients my ackdarian leader hasn't changed once in about 20 years

Thanks, ehsumrell1! That was bugging the crap out of me! [:)]

Actually Sim, as I mentioned in another thread, it would be better to make the
number 0.1 instead of 0.0. Reason being, in case some natural disaster befalls
the colony and the Leader gets killed. having it set at 0.1 should guarantee
that you get a replacement Leader where you might not if set at 0.0!

hmmm....that's an interesting situation....There is an option for dismissing characters... there should be some kind of mechanism if there is no leader at all a random colony governor is selected or a new leader is spawned.   Lol maybe their should be vice leader positions that the player gets to select from any of his other characters.

feelotraveller -> RE: I don't want my leader to change..where is that setting? (11/29/2011 12:52:16 AM)

I think the point is that we don't get to choose our leaders. [:D]

Simulation01 -> RE: I don't want my leader to change..where is that setting? (11/29/2011 12:58:04 AM)

Nah, the point is to enjoy the game......[;)]

Data -> RE: I don't want my leader to change..where is that setting? (11/29/2011 2:34:18 PM)

About the last two points made here....this is the trademark of this game since it's begining. Starting with the private sector....being completely private [:)]
