Keston -> How to force troops to invade? (11/28/2011 10:22:56 AM)

I have a couple of fleets full of troops in orbit but the Attack order just reverts almost immediately to No Mission other than a warship that dropped one or more divisions on the planet that were wiped out. We are at war, but there is a blockade icon on the planet - I probably did order someone to blockade the planet. Does this prevent attack orders from being issued? I tried a little bombardment, but it still says I am blockading it and the ships all revert to No Mission (or Refuel, or Repair) rather than land more. I disbanded the transport fleet and then gave individual orders, but they would not attack. The ships are dispersing on their own affairs - maybe they tired of several years of assembly and fueling/loading activity.

However, a fleet several stars away has accepted orders to attack, only with just a dozen divisions that would not go well.

Any explanation? Suggestions?

The only thing I can think of (apart form bugs) is the settings in the designs.

Select a disobedient ship and click the design in the selection box. Look top left for the behavior settings. One option is how to invade. Like "invade when clear", "invade immediately". Make sure it is the latter.

I forgot to mention that the transport classes were all set to invade immediately. The coast is clear - the defenders have been wiped out of space for a couple of years - just needed to raise enough fresh troops in one mass to assault the planet.

Yeah I had the exact same problem in my game.

OK, well, I disbanded the invasion fleet and let them all do what they wanted or refueled them if possible, moved them within fuel-tank range of the target and formed a new fleet, and then (the blockade icon on the target having disappeared, maybe since I moved everything away from the target), they successfully invaded on the second try.

I suspect there is something about the "Blockade" flag that causes this.
