Nedrear -> Pre-Designed ships with extraction mistake (11/30/2011 12:15:06 AM)

The old ships of pre-designs got a bug where their extraction amount is still based on the old values in vanilla. Therefore the yield is far below new designed ships and is a disadvantage of the KI against a human player.

For example the predesigned supply ship got 3 gas extractors which should yield 240 (200 as of max in 100% gas clouds) and instead give 120 since they count as 4 per extractor not 8. This is the same for the starting ressource extractors in gas and mining ships. That is wrong!

Furthermore since the player now know the ressource cap *clears throat* it would only be fair to give industrial races like the Ugnari perfect mines at the cap and rather inefficient races a les version, balancing the issue with the human player.

Update

Fellowtraveller said the ships work with half as intended, that would mean I can exploit constructing a mining ship out of a previously mining station - switching class - to get more extraction. It seems wrong either way...

And the ressource cap pre-design thing still stands as a suggestion!

If this is indeed the case (not tested): Nice catch!
