How do you disable these longwinded startup movies?

GenChaos33 -> RE: Startup Movies and Logos (12/1/2011 8:29:03 PM)

I made 2 second long movies and replaced the ones in the Movies subfolder. FYI - Just removing the existing movies did not work.

Yes, I tried changing the names... No Joy... Wouldn't be bad if they weren't so longwinded. How about it Mr. Developer, Any way to actually disable these monotonous game startup sequences?

I might be missing something here, but once the game has loaded (i.e. you are past the initial small splash screen) just click on your mouse button and you will skip straight to the start game menu screen.

Space bar works too.

Just click the mouse button. Isn't that easier then replacing the whole movie?

P.S. Now I know this game is really great when people are asking developer to replace the start up movie because they are too lazy to press a button [;)]

LOL, Thanks. I'm so used to <Esc>aping from most game intros that I usually don't think of clicking the mouse until there is something to actually click on.

GenChaos33 -> RE: Startup Movies and Logos (12/2/2011 3:50:54 AM)

Geez, going by u hater's logic. I might as well leave the Galactopedia popup on startup too. Why not add more clicks before getting to the load game screen? Or does your opinion change on that option? FYI - the 2 second video only took me like 2 mins to make and replace in the Movie subfolder! So I like it that way, its just a preference. And since I had the ability why not do it?

Yskonyn -> RE: Startup Movies and Logos (12/2/2011 9:55:53 AM)

Easy, sir Chaos. I think you missed the tongue in cheek remark there.
I don't think Hector was trying to be nasty. Besides, isn't clicking a mouse button always easier than editing / replacing a movie? I think so. [:D]

GenChaos33 -> RE: Startup Movies and Logos (12/2/2011 5:00:49 PM)

I disagree. I guess the little video editing experience that I do have changes my opinion on a heavy clickfest of a game.

Do you mind uploading this 2second movie? Those game intros are quite annoying and its a shame some cant be replaced.
