Dracus -> bug or not? (12/3/2011 3:14:37 AM)

I dont think my civ shjips should be traveling to alien worlds when we don't have a trade agreement or treaty of any kind. Also once we go tow ar thean all civ ships should avoiding traveling to the enemy worlds cuase they just get blasted to hell.

So muy question is this a bug or was it intend that civ ship travel to alien race worlds to trade without having a formal trade agreement with that race?

Don't think it is a bug. That has been happening since first version.

That kind of adds to the confusion as to what the trade agreement is really for, since they trade anyway.

I think trade agreements just send even more to them etc. Not really sure. LOL

Well that makes playing an isolationist type race impossible then and if a ai race decides to go trade ship hunting around thier planets there is no way to stop your trade ships from lining up for the slaugther. this can really cripple your empire since your ports try to stack up replacement ships.

I have not seen an incident of this YET.

You could always trade embargo all those you don't have a free trade agreement with. I don't think that would make the game easier, though.

Think of those stupid civilians as income. That fat guy back home owning them just lost one of his ships, and have to buy a new one. More money!

Even with out trade agreements, there are always people who would go trade with others unofficially. Once you sign a Free Trade agreement, it just becomes official and even more trade happens between both sides. Leading to improve relations.

Trade Embargoes is the only way to stop it. Which causes a negative effect on your reputation of course.
