This is a bit tricky to deal with. It sounds like you are setting v-flags in the scenario editor in an effort to get a pbem type battle going. If so, try this. 1. Pay attention to the nations involved. If you are playing German as player one then do your v-hex editing with that setting. 2. Save the map with your v-hexes displayed. 3. You can do a bit of a test to be sure the map is ok before losing all of the time it takes to purchase/deploy like this: Generate a battle like you are going to play pbem with Purchase a couple of units and let the computer deploy them While in deploy, look at things. If all is well, save this in the pbem slot you are going to use Use any password Pretend you emailed the setup off to your opponent Open the file and purchase any one or two units and use auto deploy again Look at the v-hexes and retreat hexes to see if they are correct. If all looks well, now you can generate the battle for real with some assurance that it will work. If you have doubts about which side of the map the AI will like to use, generate a quick sample to see. Then use that information to set up your generated pbem battle. I know from bitter experience just how much of a pain this can be so I hope this will help a bit. Some "problem" maps. Japan vs US Army, Brit vs Germany Any "reverse-generated" battle that is with the advance or assault arrows pointed to the left.
