ORIGINAL: berndn While I don't use K-Lite and have no sound problems with PC the reason to install 32 bit as well as 64 bit is the behavior of a 64 bit Windows system (at least Windows Vista 64 bit as well as Windows 7 64 bit). The 32 bit codec is fine for all programs started as a 32 bit application and then call 32 bit sound codecs. But if you would only have 32 bit codecs and you would launch a 64 bit program it would need to have 64 bit codecs. So you would need the 64 bit codecs too. Hope that the linked threads give the needed help :) You're right. I've never looked for x64 codecs, but it makes sense the x64 players needs them. Unfortunately, I've struggle with codecs so many time, that usually I avoid all these packs, and install only the necessary if VLC player doesn't do the job. I almost don't encode these days. Thanks for the tip, berndn. [:)]
