About Panzer Corps

Panzer Corps is a brand new turn-based strategy game that reinvents a classic genre. Produced and developed by a team of experts and brought to perfection by a community of hundreds of fans, the game has evolved over 2 years to become what can be defined as a modern classic!

Set in World War II, Panzer Corps puts the player in charge of Axis armies, taking their core force with them through the entire war. The use of combined-arms tactics requires each general to make use of the strengths and exploit the weaknesses of their opponents.

Its multiplayer mode, an improved version of Slitherine’s award winning PBEM++ system, allows players to easily find opponents anywhere in the world enjoy playing them with none of the hassle.

Panzer Corps is designed to replicate the feeling of a classic wargame, but brings it up to 21st century standards and to a whole new generation of gamers.

I see that you are using a mirror for this patch. Are all of the future Matrix patches going to be through mirrors now? This one is piddly slow and a several minute wait. [&:]

What is the proper folder to extract the rar file into?  Or do I just click on the exe file?  downloading now

LarryP -> RE: Panzer Corps Gets Another Update! (12/7/2011 9:35:02 PM)

It's a zip extension, so unzip it anywhere you want, and click the exe file. It will find your installation folder and reg code, but you may have to correct where the shortcuts are located. Then it does the rest! [:)]

Hi Larry,

After the demand for the first few, we thought that adding some mirrors would be a good idea. We have since added a great deal of additional bandwidth to our servers, so if you try downloading from our site through "Check for Updates" or the public FTP, you should see much faster download speeds than with previous update releases.

Regards,

- Erik

LarryP -> RE: Panzer Corps Gets Another Update! (12/8/2011 1:49:25 PM)

Thanks Erik. At least we have other options.

Arkady -> RE: Panzer Corps Gets Another Update! (12/8/2011 8:13:35 PM)

Is there full descriptio what's new in the patch ? After installation there is no readem or whatsnew file with details about 1.05...

andrewmazlim -> RE: Panzer Corps Gets Another Update! (12/8/2011 8:23:46 PM)

Gotta report that, during my '41 campaign installation, the v1.05 patch didn't installed automatically and I had to download it (doing it right now) manually.

IainMcNeil -> RE: Panzer Corps Gets Another Update! (12/8/2011 10:07:58 PM)

Did you already install the 1.05 patch? If so it would skip it.

No, you missed my point. I had v1.04; I installed '41 campaign and SHOULD installed ALSO the v1.05, but didn't.
So I had to do it manually.

felixckw -> RE: Panzer Corps Gets Another Update! (12/9/2011 7:16:16 AM)

I see 3 new difficulty levels. Is Rommel the hardest level? Does it alter the path of the game if I choose different generals?

Lord Zimoa -> RE: Panzer Corps Gets Another Update! (12/9/2011 8:10:09 AM)

The path is always your choice, the three extra difficulty levels above Field Marshal have some extra modifiers:

Guderian: lowers the number of turns you have to complete a scenario or to achieve a decisive victory.
Manstein: sets enemy unit strength to 15.
Rommel: reduces your number of core units and prestige.

Der Kuenstler -> RE: Panzer Corps Gets Another Update! (12/9/2011 10:24:26 PM)

Does this patch make all of our old saves unplayable? (We have to start the game over?)

IainMcNeil -> RE: Panzer Corps Gets Another Update! (12/9/2011 11:25:44 PM)

No, saves will load up fromolder versions. Backwards compatability is essential.

Der Kuenstler -> RE: Panzer Corps Gets Another Update! (12/10/2011 1:21:19 AM)

ok thanks...

Magpius -> RE: Panzer Corps Gets Another Update! (12/13/2011 11:52:44 PM)

@Arkady,
That's a damn fine sig. I wish I'd thought of it.

Hanal -> RE: Panzer Corps Gets Another Update! (12/14/2011 1:43:12 AM)

Should there have been an updated 1.05 readme or What's New pdf file installed with this update? My docs are still for vers 1.04.........

I have installed 1.05 yet I do not see these bonus difficulty levels...where should I be looking? Thanks...

Good question, I don't see them either.

Hanal -> RE: Panzer Corps Gets Another Update! (12/15/2011 1:24:12 AM)

Ahhhh...doubt I'll see them anytime soon, and I presume that these bonus levels are triggered in the core game only and so is not tied into the DLC's unless you master the core game first ? (I must admit here that I jumped into the DLC without completing the original game).

Right.
But there will be custom difficulty levels.

we do plan to allow custom difficulty levels in one of the future updates.

How to get to Manstein or change values manually?
http://www.slitherine.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=30267

goodwoodrw -> RE: Panzer Corps Gets Another Update! (12/15/2011 10:54:21 PM)

G'day all I have installed the 1.05 patch then installed the 41 campaign, the ver 1.05 shows on the splash screen, but I can't see the new difficulty levels.

vonRocko -> RE: Panzer Corps Gets Another Update! (12/15/2011 11:08:53 PM)

BASB, according to the slitherine link, you must complete the original campaign to western USA getting all decisive victories. This will unlock the new levels. The link VPaulus gave for changing it manually, sounds risky.

VPaulus -> RE: Panzer Corps Gets Another Update! (12/15/2011 11:15:19 PM)

Exactly like von Rocko, said.
There's only a new difficulty level, the Ultimate. And for that you've to edit the gameoptions.htm file.
The others (Rommel, Manstein and Guderian) exist since version 1.0. You can only have access to them if you win the USA West scenario with a DV on Field Marshall difficulty level.

@von Rocko
Yes, if you don't feel comfortable in messing with registry, don't do it.
Of course, if you create a restore point prior to the changing, you can always go back at least.

Now I'm a bit confused. Do you need a decisive victory in all the scenerios leading up to,and including, USA West? Or do you just need the decisive in the USA west? (on field marshall of course)

goodwoodrw -> RE: Panzer Corps Gets Another Update! (12/15/2011 11:28:41 PM)

Thanks, too busy playing new campaigns to do that again, not all that important I guess?
