frekk -> Tutorial Scenario text files (11/7/2002 2:43:19 PM)

Hi,

I'm really liking the look of this game (SPWAW) but I haven't been able to play the tutorial scenarios properly. It seems that they were supposed to include a text file for each one of some sort, and I've hunted in vain not only in the SPWAW folder but all across this website to find these. The description of the tutorial says "Find the text file that goes along with this scenario and follow it"
Was there some kind of oversight here? Were these texts included in earlier releases of Steel Panthers but not forgotten in SPWAW?
If so, could someone please email the texts to me?

Look in the manual (pdf format).
IIRC it's there.

Yes, the tutorials texts are included in the manual, which you got when downloaded spwaw.
There is only one missing (don't remember which one), but I'm sure Gmenfan will pop in here soon and provide it, too ;)

Frekki, on the 1st spwaw screen there is a link that says World at War Manual. The text files for the tutorials are in there except for the one on cave busting that got left out. Somewhere in this forum is a post from gmenfan with the link to that particular text file. If you have access to a good printer, I'd print out that whole manual, and while it's pretty big, it's also very valuable to the newbie.
:D

frekk -> got it! (11/8/2002 10:22:33 PM)

Thanks, I found them.

I ended up skipping the tutorials for a moment and went straight into a random campaign. Its really odd, but I had the hardest time in the tutorials but the random campaign was a cakewalk - same with random battles.
The scenarios are another matter entirely.
I imagine I'll be getting back to the tutorial if I'm going to get even marginal victories in those.

That is because senarios are designed and give the AI many more commands and a plan. Allows the designer tons of latitude to create a better AI through way points and objectives.
